In this episode, I share a conversation with Janelle Wong, a scholar advocate and the Director of Asian American studies at the University of Maryland, that we had back in 2021. 

Janelle tells us about her data findings on the rise of anti-Asian hate crimes during the pandemic, and how the media narrative of the perpetrators and frequency of the crimes were far from reality.

This conversation touches on the model minority myth, anti-Blackness in the Asian community, and the racial solidarity between Asian-Americans and Black and other POC groups in the U.S
