There was great excitement among her family and friends back in 1990 when Eleanor Third, known to everyone as Tee, was to be featured on the Be My Guest slot on Radio Solway and interviewed by Rita May.

Tee’s great-niece Shona Todd (née McGregor) has treasured the recording of that interview over the years and when she let some people hear it recently it made her realise how fondly remembered her great-aunt was - you can listen to thre interview by clicking the link above.

It’s a fascinating conversation and gives you an insight in to the life of a very special woman who, as a teacher in Wigtownshire for more than 20 years, is, even now - more than 20 years after her death - remembered fondly by those who knew her.

Neither Stuart nor Richard has yet successfully completed a novel of their own but they are still determined that one day they will follow in the footsteps of Stuart’s dad - Richard’s grandad - Peter.

Peter had his novels published in the 1950s alongside countless short stories in the science fiction genre.

For the time being Stuart and Richard will just chat about other people’s work and in this edition they focus on Tony Parsons’ Man and Boy but also dip in to the second and third books in what they term the Harry Silver Trilogy; Man and Wife and Men from the Boys.
