This week Amy and Ross were excited to sit down with the lovely Lauren Johnson, the founder of Graveney Equine, one of the world’s earliest track livery yards and an award-winning equine facility in Kent. Lauren joins us and walks us through her journey and experiences that led her to the creation of Graveney Equine, and alongside the multitude of benefits of track systems and species-specific management, the conversation expands to a larger discussion of rethinking track system design from the horses perspective and moving beyond the basics of welfare. Opening up some of the bigger questions that may challenge established thought processes, this conversation explores how we can do better for equine welfare, management and training, not just with the evidence we have, but the requirements from us, the humility to do so and curiosity to seek it.
