"I'm Glad You Said That" is a weekly podcast/radio show featuring Jim Minnery, President of Alaska Family Council/Action. During these episodes, we'll talk about the things you're not supposed to talk about in polite company - religion and politics. We dive into both as they intersect issues like religious liberty, the sanctity of life, Biblical marriage and parental rights. Each show, Minnery interviews influencers across Alaska and across the nation to get listeners thinking on how to be salt and light in the public marketplace of ideas.© 2026 "I'm Glad You Said That" - Jim Minnery Talks Faith & Politics Catechesi ed evangelismo Cristianesimo Politica e governo Scienze politiche Spiritualità
  • Can One State Usurp the Rights of Another to Enforce Their Laws ? How the abortion debate has shifted.
    Oct 7 2026

Gene Mills, my brother in Christ who heads up the Louisiana Family Forum, is on the show today, bringing all of his Cajun wit and dialect, to discuss the latest battle in the effort to protect unborn lives.

The Supreme Court lawsuit Louisiana has filed, joining Arkansas and Alabama, targets state "shield laws" in California, New York and Massachusetts that protect medical providers from out-of-state investigations, subpoenas, extradition requests, and prosecutions when they prescribe and mail medication abortion pills to patients in states where abortion is banned.

The plaintiff states argue that these shield laws violate the U.S. Constitution by projecting other states' policies into their borders, interfering with local sovereignty, and preventing them from enforcing their own criminal and civil abortion restrictions.

This will be a fun and important dialogue.

  • He Gets It - My Much Needed Chat With Pastor Ron at Mt City Church
    Sep 18 2026

I wish there were more pastors like Ron Hoffman at Mountain City Church in Anchorage. Of course there are many I know and respect who have also done a wonderful job preaching the full counsel of God but I can only interview one at a time.

Pastor Hoffman understands that God created three institutions. Family, Church and Government. And, by the way, all three are stained by sin. Romans 3:23, 1 John 1:8, Ecclesiastes 7:20, Romans 5:12, Isaiah 64:6

But, for some reason, although the church has no problem dealing with the downfalls of family and church struggling with sin, Government is to be shunned.

Stay away. Bad. Don't want to get soiled. It's "political".

But here's the deal. Politics is nothing more than the way communities organize and communicate on how to address challenges and solutions for human flourishing in society. Something the Gospel has very much to say about.

Hope you can tune in today and hear Pastor Ron's perspective on why church leaders should not shy away from being salt and light...in every arena of life.

  • Take It Down Act - How The Federal Trade Commission Is Tackling The Issue of People's Likenesses Being Stolen
    Sep 16 2026

Today I get to speak with staffers from the Federal Trade Commission on how they are addressing the very real issue of people having their images/photos etc being abused for nefarious reasons. It's an interesting, and disturbing, trend. Hope you can tune in.
