  • A Westside Success Story: 25 Years of San Franpsycho
    Oct 15 2026

AveNews Host Inés Ventura joins San Franpsycho Founder Christian Routzen at the company's Ninth Avenue shop in the Inner Sunset to discuss 25 years of the clothing and lifestyle brand – and the impact it has on the neighborhood and City as a whole.

What started in 2001 as a surf film for a college thesis has turned into one of the City's most iconic brands, with locations on Haight Street, in Fisherman's Wharf and at San Francisco International Airport.

"All along the way, we’ve worked with and we’ve worked for the community,” Christian told the Sunset Beacon in 2019.

On this episode, Inés and Christian discuss how the westside community has created an environment for San Franpsycho to flourish, the joys and struggles of 25 years in business, San Franpsycho's retrospective exhibition at 111 Minna Gallery, how the company is uplifting local businesses and artists – and much more.
