    Oct 19 2026

When your energy, sleep, or focus changes, how do you start a conversation about what's going on?

Birdman meets Leslie Karr, nurse practitioner and owner of Optimize U in Chandler, to hear her story and explore her approach to hormone health and aging.

From serving in the Air Force to working in operating rooms, intensive care, and dialysis, Leslie's career has centered on caring for people. She shares what brought her from San Diego to Chandler—and what it's been like building a local practice from her very first patient.

Together, they discuss the concerns that bring men and women into her clinic, including fatigue, brain fog, sleep changes, and changes in body composition. Leslie explains how she uses conversations, lab work, and follow-up appointments to evaluate patients and guide individualized care. They also talk about perimenopause, menopause, testosterone, and the importance of discussing personal goals and family planning with a provider.

Behind the business is a personal vision: staying active, independent, and able to enjoy life as the years go by.

Listen to meet the person behind the practice and hear her perspective on asking questions about your health.
