The Portland Fire conclude the 2026 season with a thrilling 90-82 overtime victory over the champion Golden State Valkyries, highlighted by Carla Leite's clutch performance. In this mailbag, hosts Kelly and Gary analyze the critical need to retain rim protector Emily Engstler and resolve the starting guard debate between Bridget Carleton and Jordan Harrison following a 16-27 campaign marred by severe injuries.

The discussion addresses fan questions regarding roster construction, depth chart battles, and the realistic projection of reaching 25 wins in 2027. Key topics include the impact of six player absences during the finale, the strategic value of Engstler's rebounding, and potential draft targets like JuJu Watkins or Madison Booker to bolster the backcourt and frontcourt respectively.

Hosts evaluate the team's ceiling after defeating Golden State, emphasizing that while talent exists, consistent depth and health management are required to climb the Western Conference standings. The episode provides a factual roadmap for the offseason, focusing on cost-effective solutions and internal development to transform the Fire into a playoff contender.
