Aging makes men look distinguished.

So why are women taught to hide our aging?

Gray hair, lines around the eyes, changing skin, a softer jawline, a body that doesn’t look exactly like it did twenty years ago... somewhere in the beauty conversation, those changes became problems women were expected to fix.

And eventually, we start repeating that message back to ourselves.

“I look so old.”

“My neck gives away my age.”

“I can’t wear that anymore.”

But what if we’ve been measuring aging well in the wrong place?

In this episode of Making Life Beautiful Again, we’re talking about the cultural double standard around aging, the way women learn to use “old” as an insult, and what it really means to care for the woman you are now.

Because aging well is bigger than whether someone thinks you look younger than your age.

Look at her life.

Is she still curious? Still participating? Still trying things? Still letting herself be seen? Still becoming?

That tells me far more about how a woman is aging than the number of lines around her eyes ever could.

In this episode, we talk about:

  • why women are taught to experience visible aging differently than men • the “old talk” many women repeat without even realizing it • how appearance concerns can eventually affect participation and confidence • what healthy aging and longevity mean beyond looking younger • why strength, sleep, nutrition, posture, stress and skin all matter • how face exercise can be part of caring for yourself without declaring war on aging • why caring about your appearance does not automatically make you vain • what stewardship can look like for a Christian woman in midlife • how to stop using “old” as a diagnosis and get specific about what you actually want to care for

My friend Tracy is joining me to share a testimony that will honestly blow your socks off.

Part of making life beautiful again is leaving room for God to do things in your life that you could never have orchestrated yourself.

Tracy has one of those stories, and she put the whole thing into a book.

If you’ve ever wondered whether God can still surprise you or write a chapter you never saw coming, you do not want to miss this conversation.
