L’inagurazione della 47° edizione del Festival d’Ambronay, intitolata “Latitudes Baroques”, è stata inaugurata dal concerto della Compagnie La Tempête diretta da Simon-Pierre Bestion che ha presentato un programma intitolato “Requiem imaginaire pour Charles Quint”.
I sedici cantanti e i diciannove strumentisti del gruppo sono stati disposti in diversi punti della chiesa, e hanno letteralmente avvolto con il loro suono possente la platea degli ascoltatori, con una full immersion sonora.
Il concerto si è svolto nella splendida chiesa abbaziale del monastero benedettino che è sede del Centre Culturel de Rencontre (CCR) di Ambronay e l’intervista al direttore del gruppo e gli esempi musicali sono stati registrati durante le prove l’11 settembre 2026.

The spectacular opening of the Ambronay Festival
The 47th edition of the Ambronay Festival, entitled ‘Latitudes Baroques’, opened with a concert by the Compagnie La Tempête, conducted by Simon-Pierre Bestion, who presented a programme entitled ‘Requiem imaginaire pour Charles Quint’. The group’s sixteen singers and nineteen instrumentalists were positioned at various points around the church, and literally enveloped the audience with their powerful sound, creating a fully immersive musical experience.
The concert took place in the splendid abbey church of the Benedictine monastery, which houses the Centre Culturel de Rencontre (CCR) in Ambronay, and the interview with the group’s director and the musical excerpts were recorded during rehearsals on 11 September 2026.
