- The shoe was size four, white canvas with a faded pink stripe and a tucked lace, standing upright in undisturbed snow.
- The scene was photographed and reported to the sheriff's substation; the caller waited in her car in eleven-degree cold.
- No footprints were found approaching or leaving the shoe for as far as the eye could follow on the morning of January 14, 2009.
- Debra recorded low rhythmic thuds at about twice per second and a slow air-push sound over an eighteen-month period beginning summer 2007.
- Hatch would stop and hold ten to twelve feet from the capped dry well on multiple nights, showing no barking or retreat.
