Cowardly host Justin Heimberg admits to an act of "accidental bravery" when he got between two rival gang members, one of whom was armed, unbeknownst to Justin. Justin chats with his old mentor and boss, Chris Henrikson, Executive Director of Street Poets, Inc., an organization that runs workshops in juvenile detention centers, using the power of poetry to help at-risk youth and gang members find their authentic voices and transform their lives. Justin and Chris reminisce about the heartbreak, humor, and hope involved in the work, and Chris offers profound lessons he has learned in his 30 years of working with L.A. youth.
