  • You find yourself safe in a mountain monastery as snow falls | 3 Hour Sleep Story, No Mid Roll Ads
    Jul 20 2026
Fall asleep inside history. Tonight you are safe and warm in a Benedictine monastery high in the Alps, more than eight hundred years ago, on a snowy night in deep January. A single candle, walls of thick stone, warm bread and soup from the guest kitchen, a monk finishing one last line in the scriptorium as the light fails, and the great silence after Compline, while snow wind moves over the roofs and a distant bell keeps the hours.

You will hear wind in the high pines, the abbey bell far away through the snow, embers settling in the guest kitchen, and the deep stillness of a house that has kept the same quiet hours for a thousand years.

This is a three hour sleep story. The narration ends softly around the 38 minute mark, and then the snow wind and the bell carry on in the dark until morning. Black screen friendly.

  • Was Troy Real? The True Story of Homer and the Lost City | 3 Hour Sleep Story
    Jul 19 2026
Fall asleep inside the oldest question in literature. Tonight, told slowly and calmly for sleep, is the whole true story of Homer and Troy: the singers who carried the poem for centuries before writing existed, the seven cities that claimed Homer, the stubborn businessman who took the poem literally and dug a hole through three thousand years of history, the gold that turned out to be too old, the nine cities stacked inside one hill, the burned layer that might be the war itself, and the clay tablets of a forgotten empire that remember a city called Wilusa. The ending is given away from the start, so nothing keeps you tense. The narration ends softly around the 1 hour 53 minute mark, and then the night wind over the ancient mound carries on until morning. Loved this one? The Odyssey itself, told for sleep on our sister show The Sleeping Almanac: https://gildenmyth.com Kingdoms at Dusk: https://kingdomsatdusk.com All our worlds: https://gildenmyth.com A real human voice with AI assistance, fully disclosed. You will hear real recorded rain, heavy and constant, softened by the walls of the house, with no music, no voice, and no thunder to startle you awake.
