A proposito di questo titolo

nomestia is a heart-led rebellion. A living diary of living in a system we are struggling to navigate, worldschooling, home education, and how we attempt to live an embodied family life.

We explore what it means to tend to ourselves as human beings in this world, raise children outside of conventional systems while tending everyone's nervous system/ the body. This is not escape - it is a return: to breath, to slowness, to presence through long format podcast episodes.

Created by Naomi and Alistair Gale, nomestia shares the real-time experience of travelling, home education, and reimagining what family life could be when we pause for a moment to reflect on how we could shape our lives in today's system. We are currently living in a van travelling Europe and Africa.

Discussing this week in our nomestia diaries- was there a mule in actual jeans? Puppies- eight of them. Items we are running out of now we have been in Morocco four months- does a Alum Stone actually work for your armpits for example? A booze cruise (cruise) gone wrong. An update on our cat's nemesis creating more carnage.

Each episode opens up conversations around current life, emotional realities of navigating this world in unconventional ways. We speak to the practical rhythms behind alternative lifestyles, while also holding space for the deeper layers at times such as identity, connection, capacity, and choice.

This is a space for nuance. For the beauty and the friction. For the parts that don’t always make it online. That’s the beauty of podcast.

If you’re curious about living and parenting outside the mainstream, homeschooling while travelling, or creating a life that feels more spacious and aligned, these conversations offer an honest window into what that can look like.

    nomestia explores:

family van life • homeschooling • nervous system living • slow travel • parenting outside the mainstream • creative family life • location-independent living

  • We Designed Your Perfect Day in Marrakech
    May 2 2026

We Designed Your Perfect Day in Marrakech (From Sunrise Gardens to Rooftop Nights).

We share everything we wish we had known before visiting Marrakech with and without children from how to navigate the Medina to how to experience Marrakech in a way that actually supports your nervous system, so you don’t just see Marrakech… you enjoy it.

If you’re planning a trip to Marrakech and want more than just ticking off sights, this episode walks you through a beautifully curated, slow-paced perfect day in Marrakech. Not out of Marrakech all within this area.

We begin in the quieter corners of the Medina before moving through hidden gardens, historic architecture, local markets, and rooftop dining- ending the day in the electric atmosphere of Jemaa el-Fnaa.

From peaceful spaces like Le Jardin Secret to iconic spots like Jardin Majorelle, we explore both the well-known and the tucked-away.

(We have three children and have been to Marrakesh as a solo trip and with children).

    Expect:

hidden gems in the Marrakech Medina

    where to eat (including rooftops)

cultural sites like Ben Youssef Madrasa

and how to actually feel Marrakech rather than rush it

This is your invitation to experience Marrakech with depth, softness, and intention.

In this episode, we share from the coast of Safi in Morocco on three topics. First, we chat about why Alan Sugar would love the Ouzoud Waterfalls. We then move on to just how horrendous the Ceuta border run was for us, personally. Finally, we explore whether Ali was risking death by not dealing with his foot after trying to break up a cat fight.
