Good morning! I'm Aaron Jolly. And welcome to the Kansas Weather Podcast — it's Sunday, February 22nd. Grab your coat one last time, because winter's about to pack its bags for a while. Step outside right now and you're feeling 22 degrees. Not terrible, but this is the coldest day you'll see for a week. By Tuesday, we're jumping 30 degrees. Yeah, you read that right. Northeast Kansas, you're hitting 35 degrees around 4 P.M., but those northwest winds gusting to 30 miles an hour will keep you honest. Tonight drops to 15 by 4 A.M., feeling more like 5 with that wind. South Central warms to 41 by 3 P.M., then falls to 21 overnight. Western Kansas, you're the warm spot at 41 around 4 P.M., but you'll still hit 15 by sunrise. Here's where it gets wild. Monday climbs into the upper 30s and low 40s. Then Tuesday? We're talking 60s statewide, with Western Kansas flirting with 70. That's mittens to sunglasses in 48 hours. Wednesday night brings a cold front with a slight chance of light rain — nothing heavy, just enough to settle the dust. Thursday cools slightly to the 50s and 60s, then Friday bounces right back near 70 under sunshine. So Dress warmly today. By Tuesday, you'll be wondering where you put your sunglasses. Spring's not tiptoeing in — it's kicking down the door. Quick thing — if this forecast helped you plan your week, share it with someone who could use a heads up. That's your forecast — we'll be back tomorrow.

Good morning, folks! I'm Aaron Jolly, and welcome to the Kansas Weather Podcast. It's Saturday, February 17th, and this cold is absolutely brutal. Northeast Kansas is sitting at minus 52 degrees right now. Let that sink in. That's the kind of cold where exposed skin gets frostbite in minutes. If you're up there, stay inside. Period. Drive south a few hours to Wichita and you'll find 26 degrees. That feels downright tropical by comparison. Western Kansas splits the difference at 19 degrees. Here's the deal for today. Northeast Kansas stays dangerously cold with a slight chance of light snow. South Central Kansas crawls toward freezing by afternoon, but the wind keeps it feeling sharp. Western Kansas? Locked in the teens with maybe a flurry or two. Tonight the bottom drops out again. Northeast Kansas could plunge to minus 55. South Central falls to 15 degrees. Western Kansas hits 10. Wind chills across the state are going to bite hard. Sunday brings a slow crawl back. Northeast Kansas struggles up to minus 30. South Central warms to 32 degrees. Western Kansas reaches 22. Still cold, but your car might actually start. Here's your heads up for the week ahead. We're stuck in this deep freeze pattern through Wednesday. No big warm ups, no major storms. Just relentless, teeth chattering cold day after day. Air quality sits at moderate, so sensitive groups you'll want to limit time outside. One bright spot worth holding onto. We're gaining nearly three minutes of daylight every single day. Sunrise at 6:32, sunset at 5:19. The sun hasn't forgotten us. Alright, quick favor. If this forecast helped you plan your Saturday, share it with a neighbor. Bundle up if you're heading out. Stay safe out there. That's your forecast — we'll be back tomorrow.

Good morning, folks! I'm Aaron Jolly, and you're listening to the 6 AM Kansas Weather Podcast. It's Friday, February 23rd, and your coffee's hot but the air outside is surprisingly gentle. Step out the door and you'll feel 42 degrees across most of the state. That's downright friendly for late February. Northeast Kansas sits right at that mark with a light northwest breeze around 6 to 10 miles an hour. Dry skies all day. Nothing dramatic. Just a calm, easy Friday. South Central Kansas? Same story. 42 degrees, light winds, not a drop of rain in sight. Here's the thing though. Drive west and the thermometer dips to 37 degrees. Western Kansas also has a slight chance of drizzle sneaking in later. Don't cancel anything over it. We're talking maybe a 2 in 10 shot. Now here's what gets me excited. Tomorrow, temperatures start climbing. Northeast Kansas pushes near 50 degrees. South Central hits 52. Even western Kansas warms into the mid 40s. By Sunday, most of the state cracks the 50s. That's the kind of late February gift you don't question. You just enjoy it. Air quality sits at moderate today, so sensitive groups might want to take it easy outdoors. Sunrise rolls in at 6:33 this morning. Sunset at 5:18. We're gaining almost 3 minutes of daylight every single day now. Golden hour hits around 4:38 this afternoon. Perfect excuse to step outside and breathe. Here's your heads up for the week ahead. Dry conditions hold through the weekend with that nice warming trend. Early next week stays pleasant with highs hovering in the upper 40s to low 50s. No major storm systems on the horizon. Just steady, quiet weather carrying us toward March. Alright. If you're enjoying these morning updates, share us with a friend who likes knowing what the sky's up to. I'll be back at 9 AM with a fresh look. Stay safe out there, Kansas!
