  • EP: // THE CIGAR ROOM Pt.1
    Feb 19 2026

"The Cigar Room" refers to a social setting, a specific type of podcast, and a general atmosphere that fosters in-depth conversation, relaxation, and networking among enthusiasts. These lounges and conversations are characterized by a calm, non-confrontational, and often luxurious environment where diverse individuals connect over a shared passion for cigars.

    Common Topics and Connections
Conversations in these spaces range from cigars themselves (smoking techniques, pairings, brands) to broader topics such as sports, music, business, and politics. It is often described as a place for networking and building camaraderie.

    Etiquette for "Cigar Room" Conversations

    • Bring Your Own Sticks: While discussing what others are smoking is welcomed, asking to taste someone else's cigar is generally frowned upon.
    • Respect Silence: If someone is enjoying quiet time, it is best to respect their space rather than force conversation.
    • No Loud Business Calls: Loudly boasting about deals or engaging in speakerphone calls is considered a breach of etiquette in most lounges

  • EP//: Senseless Killing in the world today.
    Feb 17 2026

Senseless killings, defined as violent acts lacking apparent motive, rationale, or provocation, continue to occur globally, often involving random victims, innocent bystanders, or targeted attacks on humanitarian workers. These acts often involve random shootings, domestic violence, or terror attacks, prompting international condemnation.

    Common Factors in "Senseless" Acts

    • Randomness: Victims are often unknown to the perpetrator.
    • Alcohol/Drug Influence: Sudden violence often occurs under the influence.
    • Psychological Issues: Voices or delusions, as cited in a 1960s San Antonio case, can drive these actions.
    • Domestic Violence: In some cases, such as in Edmonton, Canada, in 2014, what appeared to be random, massive violence was later linked to extreme domestic issues.

    Responses and Prevention
Communities and organizations are fighting back against this trend. Examples include:

    • Mothers/Men Against Senseless Killing (MASK): Founded in Chicago to prevent violence by increasing community presence in dangerous areas.
    • International Pressure: The UN regularly calls for accountability, particularly when civilians are targeted in conflicts like in Yemen or the West Bank.
    • Legal Action: Courts frequently impose severe penalties, such as multiple life sentences, to address the "abhorrent" nature of these crimes.

  • EP 112: Overwhelming cost of living in America
    Feb 12 2026

Approximately 87% of Americans view the current cost of living as a crisis, and 67% live paycheck to paycheck due to runaway housing, food, and utility costs, according to reports from Get Out of Debt Guy and eMarketer. Driven by inflation, household costs have risen significantly, with food up 20.2%, electricity up 26.6%, and vehicle insurance up 20.3%, forcing many to take second jobs or relocate.

Key Drivers and Impact of the Cost-of-Living Crisis

    • Essential Costs Outpace Wages: While wages have risen, they have failed to keep pace with the exploding cost of necessities like housing, healthcare, and childcare.
    • Housing & Rent Crisis: Housing costs have surged by 28.2%, and nearly 4 in 10 Americans have considered moving because their area has become too expensive.
    • Daily Survival Strain: Half of Americans (52%) are struggling to pay monthly bills and rent on time.
    • Grim Outlook: Nearly 8 in 10 Americans (78%) reported that everything became more expensive in 2025, and 46% believe costs will become even less affordable in 2026.
    • Regional Differences: While states like Hawaii, Alaska, and Colorado are perceived as the least affordable, others like Mississippi and Oklahoma are considered more manageable.

  • EP:// 111 Missing Person / Mass shooting by teenagers
    Feb 11 2026

More than a week after Nancy Guthrie, Savannah Guthrie's mother, vanished from her Arizona home in what may have been a kidnapping, authorities arrested someone to question.

Deputies from the Pima County Sheriff's Department "detained a subject during a traffic stop south of Tucson" and are interrogating the individual "in connection with the Nancy Guthrie investigation," USA TODAY reported. The individual's personal information has not been disclosed.

The FBI released images and footage from Nancy Guthrie's doorbell camera of a potential suspect recorded just hours before the case developed. The individual, who was wearing gloves and a ski mask and appeared "armed," according to FBI Director Kash Patel, has not been legally identified.

  • EP: 110 Human Trafficking
    Feb 7 2026

The weeklong crackdown resulted in hundreds of arrests and the rescue of nearly 20 children across California.

    What we know:

Operation Reclaim and Rebuild was a coordinated statewide effort involving dozens of agencies and the LA Regional Human Trafficking Task Force. In LA County alone, 12 adults and five children were rescued from trafficking conditions.

LASD Sheriff Robert Luna confirmed that the investigation was sparked by a single citizen complaint about a house in Walnut, which led to months of surveillance and the discovery of several other brothels in the area.

Among the 600 people arrested statewide were numerous suspected traffickers and hundreds of sex buyers.

    What we don't know:

While officials confirmed the rescue of victims from as far away as Illinois, Oklahoma, and Missouri, the specific identities of the suspects and the locations of all seized residential brothels have not been released.

It remains unclear how many of the 600 arrests will result in felony human trafficking charges versus lesser solicitation charges.

  • EP: 109 News & Men's Mental Health
    Feb 2 2026

Men's mental health involves unique challenges, often masked by societal pressure to appear strong, leading to higher rates of suicide and underreporting of issues like depression, anxiety, and substance abuse, which can manifest as anger, irritability, or risk-taking rather than sadness, requiring awareness of these different signs and encouraging open communication and support to seek treatment.

Common Signs & Symptoms in Men

Men often express distress differently, so look for:

    • Behavioral Changes: Increased anger, irritability, aggression, risk-taking (reckless driving, gambling, unsafe sex), social withdrawal, or excessive work/sports.

Emotional Numbing: Difficulty feeling positive emotions or seeming emotionally flat.

Substance Use: Increased alcohol or drug misuse as a coping mechanism.

Physical Symptoms: Fatigue, headaches, digestive issues, or changes in appetite/sleep.

Loss of Interest: Dropping hobbies or activities once enjoyed.

Suicidal Thoughts: A serious symptom requiring immediate help.

    Why It's Different/Overlooked

Stigma: Cultural norms discourage vulnerability, viewing mental health struggles as weakness or failure.

Masking: Anger and irritability can hide underlying depression or anxiety.

Silence: Men are less likely to seek treatment, contributing to higher suicide rates.

How to Help & Get Support

Talk Openly: Create safe spaces for men to share feelings.

Listen Actively: Be a trusted friend to whom to confide.

Normalize Help-Seeking: Frame seeking therapy as a sign of strength.

Professional Help: Therapists and primary care doctors can help.

Lifestyle: Exercise, a healthy diet, sleep, and mindfulness can improve well-being.

Resources: Organizations like HeadsUpGuys offer resources.

  • EP: 108 Who's right in this case? Trump's Greenland.
    Jan 30 2026

The Trump administration is taking a 10% stake in USA Rare Earth as part of a $1.6 billion debt-and-equity investment package to help the company develop a domestic mine and a magnet facility, two sources familiar with the deal told Reuters.

The deal and a separate $1 billion private investment will be unveiled on Monday, and Oklahoma-based USA Rare Earth will host a morning conference call with investors to discuss the terms, according to one of the sources briefed on the plans.

The White House did not immediately respond to a Reuters request for comment. USA Rare Earth declined to comment.

China is the world's largest processor of rare earths, a group of 17 minerals used to make a range of electronics and
    military equipment.
