In Episode 2 of Becoming Unbreakable, Andrew reflects on the quieter, less visible part of his journey, the months before diagnosis, when his body was slowing down but life and leadership expectations hadn’t.
From February to August 2018, what began as a simple cold gradually turned into persistent breathlessness, fatigue, and a growing sense that something wasn’t right. During this time, Andrew continued to work, lead, and show up for others — even as his physical capacity declined and uncertainty grew.
This episode explores the emotional and psychological impact of leading while unwell, the cost of pushing through warning signs, and the difficult shift from pace-driven leadership to presence-led leadership. It’s an honest reflection on identity, resilience, and what happens when your body starts asking for attention long before you’re ready to listen.
Episode 2 is for leaders, healthcare professionals, and anyone living with a long-term condition who has had to rethink strength, productivity, and self-worth.
This is not about giving up, it’s about learning how to lead differently when life forces you to slow down.
