A proposito di questo titolo

The first ever zero judgement parenting podcast from the team behind An Irishman Abroad. Join funny man Jarlath and child behaviouralist Tina Regan as they tackle the questions, the worries and the day-to-day hilarity that comes with modern parenting. Jarlath collects anonymous questions from frazzled and exhausted parents, while Tina shares more than 20 years of experience working in early childhood intellectual, behavioural and social development. With genuine problems from real parents it’s anyone’s guess what the questions will be but the pair will gamely tackle anything that’s thrown their way. Expect all manner of queries including: - "My young lad eats like a caveman and is mortifying me everywhere we go" - "If I ask my kid to come off her iPad she acts like her world is caving in" - "My toddler refuses to wear clothes” - “My kid won’t poo at school” - “My kid refuses to let me leave the house, what should I do? No problem is too big or small. Tina promises to help parents help themselves, with zero judgement. Raising kids is so fecking hard we all need help to do it.GoLoud Genitorialità e famiglie Relazioni
  • My Kid Sleep Walks! My Kid Is Falling Behind! - Season 4 Episode 6
    Jan 19 2026

Welcome back to another episode of Honey You’re Ruining Our kid. Thanks to all you legends we are still the number 1 parenting podcast.

We are nearly through the hardest, coldest, darkest and most financially tricky month of the year. We are all trying to just hang in there. Spring and hope are on the way. In the meantime Jarlath is on tour and the world seems to be on fire. How do we talk to our kids about what they might be seeing on the news? We get into that and three brilliant listener questions.

Question 1. Is My Kid Falling Behind In School?

Looking forward to a holiday can keep the whole family on track. Booking a family holiday during school time can help save money. Will it impact your child though? Are you getting real savings or are you about to make their school life harder. Will it affect their friendships? Their learning? Will they catch up or will it have a long lasting impact?

Question 2. Is My Kid Sleeping Due To Anxiety?

What is a family and who decides how it should look? All the matters is that your child is loved and feels safe. Is it tough though if your community makes you feel like outsiders because your family doesn’t fit the stereotype of what is considered normal. If this feeling of being the outsiders starts to impact your kid what can you do?

Question 3. How Can I Get My 8 Year Old Enthusiastic About Reading?

We are all aware that it is harder to get boys reading than girls. There are lots of different reasons for this. Sometimes it can be as easy as just finding the right book that captures their interests. Sometimes it can be hard if there are gaps in their learning or they haven’t fully understood how to blend sounds to make words.

Is intervention going to work? Absolutely. It’s never too late. Listen in to find out how you can get any child reading.

  • "My Kid Is Out Of Control!" Kids That Lie & Imposing New Year's Resolutions
    Jan 5 2026

We are back. A brand new year and a brand new episode. Today’s show mostly deals with trying to break bad habits. We are back to dropping an episode every second Monday. Wishing you all the very happy 2026.

    Question 1-

If your three year old's behaviour is completely out of control, at home and at nursery what can you do to help him? Is it’s affecting his happiness, his friendships his schooling? When teachers and the Principals can’t cope with his outbursts does he need professional help? Is there any way of calming the behaviour down? How can you reset and try again? Is having a routine or your own parenting standard or rules really going to help?

    Question 2-

Teenagers are tougher than toddlers! Navigating the moods, the hormones, the outbursts. It’s just exhausting. Add in the never ending worrying about the human they are becoming. Couple this with zero support and you've got a lot of sleepless nights on your hands. What do you do when your mammy gut is on high alert? How do you choose your battles? Should you go get help and if yes where do you even go?

    Question 3-

New year, new rules. The new year is a great opportunity to form new habits in your home. It can make simple rule changes seem exciting and a positive change for the kids. Three new changes seems to be the magic number. Keep these new rules workable, achievable and positive.

  • My Kid Won't Talk, My Kid Is Abusive, Can I Trust My Kid?
    Oct 20 2025

Welcome back to another episode of Honey You’re Ruining Our Kid. It’s presidential election week in Ireland and the toys are being thrown out of the pram. Things are getting down right dIrty and it feels hard to explain or understand the impact this may have on our kids. All they are seeing is people taking swipes at each other on the news. How do we explain political behaviour to our children and then expect them not to replicate it.

    Question 1-

When you’re a working mum trying to juggle your job and childcare you can just feel like the worry of timetabling your whole life is never ending. So when your kids become teenagers you finally have a chance to give them independence and trust them with the responsibility of minding themselves at home while you are still at work. What do you do though when they step up that expectation and want to invite some friends over while you’re not there. Can you trust them in the house alone with their buddies? Is 14 years of age too early for them to be able to handle these freedoms?

    Question 2-

Is there anything cuter than a chatty six year old girl. When you know your child to be a social butterfly at home or when around family it can be hard to understand that she is in fact the opposite at school. Should you be worried if your teacher approaches you with worries about her language skills when you know she has them. Or should you be worried about why your child is choosing to be selectively mute while at school.

    Question 3-

Exhausted moms raising teenagers is never a good mix. We are led to believe that the early years are the toughest parenting years and then you get to meet your teen. Navigating your child through their teenage years is a mammoth task made even harder if they are unhappy and acting out. How do you reach your child? What can you do to help your child through their inner turmoil? How do you speak to them and get them to understand that they can’t take their moods and frustrations out on you or their extended family? Is there hope? Is there a way of turning it all around or do you just have to ride the teenage dirt bag wave until it reaches a calmer shore.

Thank you for listening in to another episode of Honey You’re Ruining Our Kid. We wish everyone a very happy Halloween. We will be back after the mid term break so there is plenty of time to get your parenting questions into us, simply email us in honeyyouareruiningourkid@gmail.com.
