    Hello!Anders Holmes is back with a new solo Anders Reviews. . . episode.Spooky Season is now in session, summer is over, the days are getting shorter and colder. It is the perfect time of the year to sit down and watch a horror film or two. Or many if you're a big horror nut, like Anders.On this episode, Anders sits down to discuss one of his favourite films of all time. Not just one of his favourite horror films of the 1990s. The film is Se7en, which was directed by David Fincher. This was Fincher's proper debut as a movie director, after the debacle that was Alien 3. Brad Pitt and Morgan Freeman star as two homicide detectives that are tasked with investigating a brutal and mysterious crime. They are on the hunt for a serial killer who kills their victims based on the seven deadly sins. Freeman's character Somerset is a disillusioned detective, who has one week before retiring. Pitt's Mills is a young and idealistic detective with a short temper and who has just transferred to Somerset's department. He is married to Gwyneth Paltrow's character Tracy, who is lonesome and doesn't like this rainy city that they have moved to. R. Lee Ermey, Richard Portnow, Michael Massee and John C. The film that was discussed in the last episode of The Movies & Me series. A wonderful and fun film that harkens back to Film Noir pictures made during the Golden Age of Hollywood. But portrayed and told with a unique and modern twist. The film is the brainchild of Jonathan Geffner, who stars in the film as Detective Van Trillo and wrote the film's screenplay. Deborah Twiss and Ed Altman, who were featured in our last episode along with Jonathan, play the characters of Chloe Lake and Elliot Black. The Dummy Detective also features Hollywood acting legend: Sean Young. The film is set in an upstate New York inn, where a killer hides amongst a group of eccentric and strange guests staying at the Inn. All have their own secrets and chequered pasts. The ventriloquist detective Van Trillo and his dummy partner Sam Suede must race against time to find and unmask the killer. The Dummy Detective is a charming film that nicely blends the genres of the mystery thriller and film noir with dark comedy.     On this episode, Anders reviews and discusses Ben Wheatley's 2011 film: Kill List. Kill List is a film that will surprise you in a big and spooky way. It starts off being one film and as it goes along, it goes into some dark and dangerous unpredictable territory. A scary film that relies on atmosphere and suspenseful feelings of dread more than gore and some demon appearing out of thin air. A tremendous and unique film, made by a unique and singular British filmmaker who has made both indie and big budget studio films. Kill List stars Neil Maskell, MyAnna Buring and Michael Smile. Maskell and Smiley play Jay and Gal, two former soldiers who work as hitmen. Jay in particular is rattled by a job in Kiev that went very wrong and is dealing with financial problems. Problems that affect his hostile and unstable marriage with Shel, played by MyAnna Buring. She also starred in the great horror film The Descent. And... Lesbian Vampire Killers. A mysterious client hires Jay and Gal to perform a job, where there are multiple targets. As the job goes on, it starts to bear down on the troubled and broken Jay. And his fragile psyche becomes affected.
