Recover All: Don’t Let the Root Determine the Route

You survived it—but did you recover from it?

In this episode of Branch Out, we return to David at Ziklag and explore what it means to move from revelation to restoration. Recovery isn’t always about getting back what you lost—it may be about recovering what you lost within yourself while you were surviving.

Your past may explain your patterns, but it doesn’t get to determine where you go next.

The root does not get to determine the route. God does.

Sometimes the experience ends, but what it left behind remains.

In this episode of Branch Out, we explore Psalm 139 and David at Ziklag to ask a deeper question: What did I carry out of what I went through?

Before David pursued what had been taken, he strengthened himself in God and asked for direction. His story reminds us that movement isn’t always progress—and sometimes, before we pursue what’s next, we need to pray, “God, search me.”

Because once God reveals the root, it’s time to stop letting the root determine the route.
