Greetings everyone, and may mercy, peace, and love be multiplied to you. We will be in 1 Peter 4 today. As Christians, suffering is all but guaranteed. But is suffering something we actively seek out, or just a side effect of being faithful? The end is coming, and has been coming ever since Jesus first left this earth. When you wake up, is your first priority to go out and say or do things that will cause you to suffer, or is self preservation on your mind? This goes against the natural instinct, but this also results in souls being saved. By choosing to rock the boat, poke the bear, or shake the metaphorical hornet’s nest, we may get hurt, but as a result, the Gospel may be proclaimed, and lives will be changed as a result. You may not always get the desired result, but that’s not our job. Lost people are very unlikely to stumble into Christianity by themselves (not that it can’t happen). That’s why God uses people like you and me to live a life that Jesus lived so that souls can be saved. We are going to suffer regardless, use it for His will.

Greetings everyone, and may mercy, peace, and love be multiplied to you. We will be in Matthew 28 today. Over the past several weeks, we have talked about issues going on within the church, as well as issues going on outside in the world. So where does that leave us? If we’re not supposed to be about money, putting on shows, or celebrating evil, then what are we supposed to do? Jesus’ great commission for us is to go, and make disciples, and teach them everything that Jesus taught us. It’s that simple, it’s all He asks of us, and yet the Church struggles with doing just that. If we aren’t working for the purpose of Jesus being proclaimed and supporting the mission, then we are just wasting our time. And that mission doesn’t stop at the end of the sermon on Sunday morning, but continues throughout the week in our everyday life. If you are a believer, ask Jesus what He wants you to do. And if you aren’t sure about your eternity, today is the day of salvation.

Greetings everyone, and may mercy, peace, and love be multiplied to you. We will be in 1 Corinthians 14 today. Speaking in tongues is very popular with the charismatic movement, but it is very understood. Speaking in tongues doesn’t mean speaking gibberish for God to hear. When you pray to God, and can’t put it into words, the Holy Spirit translates for you, and God understands exactly what you need. Then there’s the miracle of tongues that happens when 2 people speak different languages, and the other hears the Gospel perfectly without a translator. Being able to speak nonsense in the middle of church isn’t an indicator of being saved. What it is, is all a show. When you speak, make sure you are understood, and let the Holy Spirit do the talking.
