And this officially concludes season 4 on Her Authentic Self Podcast. I wanted to wrap up the season adresing some common misconceptions in the self help world regarding New Year vision boards and New Year Manifestations. While I do believe in using the cognitive mind set of putting your vision on paper in order to rid your mind of disbelief/lack and replace intrusive thoughts with abundance; I do not believe manifesting alone is all it takes to see active change in our lives. In addition to manifesting we must also put good works behind our faith to create actionable achievable steps that will bring our manifestations to life.

Not only is this psychological but this is also a biblical concept that requires faith and action to be used in unison when we pray and wait on God for our desires. This episode breaks down the concept of planting and seeing a harvest in practical farmer terms. The same concepts can be used when discussing personal growth. There can be no God given harvest without a season of planting first.

I pray this episode is a reminder and encouragement that God has not forgotten about you, however there is very important soul work that Spirit does in our hearts during our season of planting. Soul work that is required before we can even remotely start to witness God's harvest for our lives.

This episode is for the intentional girlies that need confirmation on whether or not they are where God wants them to be! The first half of the discussion I share current stories of alignment that are not only beautiful, but shocking! The way I've seen God start to answer my prayers so clearly has changed the more I start to pray, God not my will but YOUR will be done in and through me. I believe alignment from Spirit is the most beautiful confirmation in life that we are seen by God and that we are exactly where God says we should be. At this point in my journey, my goal is not to have all the answers, but to continuously seek God's presence by pursuing Gods purpose for me, running towards where he says I should be, who I should meet and what I should do in every season.

The end of the episode I share scripture in Mark, research on internal and external signs that make it clear we are in alignment with God as well as some practical actions steps anyone can take as they continue to chase after what God has for them.

Welcome Back to Season 4 on Her Authentic Self Podcast. This is the VERY first Her Authentic Self Discussion Panel but it won't be the last! As I continue to be obedient and intentional about where God wants me to be, in this season of my life Spirit has truly been opening doors and aligning me with many powerful women of God. In this episode my Fiance and I are sharing first hand what we've learned in pre- marital counseling that helped us better show up for the other person the way God intends. We are breaking down the incredible book called "Love and Respect" by Doctor Eggerichs and discussing various communication styles for relationships called "TIP" and "Listener/Speaker". Both of these communications styles drastically changed our love for one another and made us both feel heard and understood.

Love alone is not enough to sustain any relationship let alone the Godly covenant of marriage. Like any life transformation and life responsibility, there are practical tools you can learn to help you draw nearer to your spouse.

In this episode you will hear several acronyms we learned on how men and women both spell love differently. Men value respect and need it to stay in their relationships and most women value and prioritize needing to feel loved above all else. The way women spell love is through the acronym "COUPLE" and the way men spell love is through the acronym "CHAIRS". Once you learn that your partner hears and sees through an entirely different lens then you do; you will learn what they need.

Not only are the concepts we're sharing biblical, they are also psychological. God tells us in his word that there will be struggle in all marriages; he also says that marriage is the greatest depiction of his love and how Christ loves the Church. We are accountable to upholding this covenant even when its hard.

We pray that the lessons we learned the hard way, shows listeners they are not alone. You are seen and you can be encouraged that misery in your relationship is not what God intends. 29 years of living and I only recently had the epiphany that the way I define "love" counteracts God's definition of "agape" love and what that truly looks like. I believe as life goes on, we all have varying seasons of what Spirit wants us to focus on. In my current season, God has me focusing on my soon to be marriage, attending pre marital counseling and learning what a God centered, God focused relationship should be.

In telling my pastor that I am doing my best to "check off the boxes" Raiem has regarding certain expectations and desires for a wife; he turned to me and said my definition of love seemed "transactional". I then realized that this is how I learned to navigate my walk with God as well. I learned that love had to be earned not freely given. I believed that my actions and obedience gained me God's love. I felt so unworthy of God's kindness and grace towards me, that all my life I subconsciously used my abilities and efforts to feel worthy.

Today and all my days moving forward, I am deciding to accept God's agape love for me and to show the same kind of unconditional love and respect to my fiance. Tune in to hear me breakdown how God defines his perfect love, and how we must actively go against what culture says dating should be.
