LIVE Tonight at 8 PM EST, we’re going LIVE with Ethan Renoe to challenge one of the biggest assumptions in modern Christianity: What does the Bible actually say happens after we die? Most Christians have heard the traditional story their entire lives. You die, your soul immediately leaves your body, and you go straight to Heaven or Hell where you consciously experience your eternal destiny. But is that actually what the passages say? Tonight, we’re not interested in simply repeating church tradition. We’re opening the Bible and examining the verses Christians regularly use to defend the traditional view of the afterlife. The thief on the cross. “Today you will be with me in Paradise.” The rich man and Lazarus. “Absent from the body…” Paul’s desire to “depart and be with Christ.” Jesus descending into the “lower parts of the earth.” The spirits in prison. The souls under the altar. These passages are constantly quoted as proof that believers immediately enter Heaven at death and the wicked immediately enter conscious torment. But what happens when we examine them in their original context? What did Sheol mean in the Old Testament? What did Hades mean to the original audience? Is Paradise automatically another word for Heaven? Does Paul actually say “to be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord,” or has a commonly repeated phrase subtly changed what the passage actually says? Is the story of the rich man and Lazarus intended to give Christians a literal map of the afterlife? And why does the Bible place such enormous emphasis on the RESURRECTION OF THE DEAD if everyone has already received their eternal destiny before the resurrection even happens? 👀 This conversation could completely change the way you read some of the most famous afterlife passages in Scripture. We’ll also explore how ideas about Heaven, Hell, Hades, Sheol, Paradise, the intermediate state, resurrection, judgment, immortality, and the New Earth developed throughout Jewish and Christian history. This isn’t about denying resurrection, judgment, eternal life, or the reality of God’s judgment. It’s about separating what the biblical text actually says from interpretations Christians may have inherited centuries later. Because sometimes the verse everyone “knows” doesn’t actually say what everyone thinks it says. 🔥 HEAVEN. HELL. SHEOL. HADES. PARADISE. RESURRECTION. JUDGMENT. THE AFTERLIFE. We’re putting the traditional interpretation under the microscope and going passage by passage. Join us LIVE TONIGHT AT 8 PM EST with Ethan Renoe and bring your strongest verses for the traditional view. If we’re wrong, the text should expose it. If the traditional interpretation is wrong, the text should expose that too. This one is going DEEP. #Heaven #Hell #Bible #Christianity #Afterlife #EthanRenoe #BiblicalTheology #Resurrection #Sheol #Hades #Paradise #Jesus #BibleStudy #ChristianPodcast #BennisTheMenace 🎙️ New to streaming or looking to level up?
