  • Ep 8- Let My People Go- Escaping Abuse
    Oct 21 2025
Episode Description: Let My People Go

Welcome back to Healing In Christ’s Light with Jeni Brockbank—daughter of God, mother of six, certified victim advocate, and survivor of relational abuse.

In this long-awaited episode, Let My People Go, Jeni shares her deeply personal story of surviving post-separation abuse, homelessness, and the miracles that came through faith, community, and God’s hand. She reflects on her own cry for freedom—“Let me go”—and connects it to God’s timeless command to Pharaoh: “Let My People Go.”

Through this powerful parallel, Jeni explores how God delivers His children from oppression, fear, and coercive control—not only in ancient Egypt but in the lives of survivors today. With tenderness and conviction, she reminds listeners that God still fights for His people, still parts seas, and still makes a way where none seems possible.

If you’ve ever felt trapped, unseen, or silenced, this episode is a reminder that God hears your cries. Deliverance may not come all at once, but He walks beside you every step of the way—leading you from bondage into peace, safety, and light.

  • Ep 7 Window of Tolerance From a Gospel Perspective Part 1
    Dec 4 2023

Katy Willis and Jeni Brockbank discuss the concept of a "Window of Tolerance," incorporating the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Katy shares her wealth of knowledge about the different parts of the brain that are involved when we get outside of our Window of Tolerance. There is discussion about Captain Moroni being hangry, the Savior drawing in the sand instead of reacting and examples with Nephi as well.

Just like temples, our bodies need to be maintained so that we can stay within our window of tolerance.

Thanks for healing with us in the Light of the Savior.

  • Ep 4 Redefining Being a Peacemaker W/ Danny Deaton
    May 31 2023

Have you ever tried to be a peacemaker but the results were less than peaceful? I sure have. In an effort to learn more about this subject, I interviewed Danny Deaton, who mentors family members of those struggling with addiction.

Danny shares his own story of addiction and redemption, along with the importance of the role that family members can play in the recovery of their loved one.

He shares that addiction is first a moral failing and then it's a disease where the user loses their agency.

As we consider those who were Peacemaker's let's consider that Christ, when He cleansed the temple was a peacemaker. Captain Moroni from the Book of Mormon was a peacemaker.

And you and I, as we set boundaries and keep them, are also peacemakers.

Let's look at peace with new eyes.

Boundaries by Henry Cloud and John Townsend. “How many marriages could have been saved if one spouse had followed through with the threat of ‘If you don't stop drinking or coming home at midnight or hitting me or yelling at the kids, I will leave until you get some treatment?’ Or how many young adults' lives would have been turned around if their parents had followed through with their threat of, ‘No more money if you quit another job without having further employment or no bed if you continue to smoke marijuana in my house?’”

  • Ep 3 I Can't Save My Loved One, But Christ Can With Bart Brockbank
    May 16 2023

It's common to think that family members of those who struggle with addiction can save our loved ones from their destructive patterns, but only Christ saves. Our loved ones have a Savior and it's (thankfully) not us.

Jeni interviews her husband, Bart Brockbank, about how loved ones can appropriately support their loved ones while staying safe. Bart shares his story about being addicted to pornography and various ways that have harmed him and his family over the years, including Jeni suffering from betrayal trauma. He also talks about what Jeni has done and what family members can do to help those who are struggling with addiction, including implementing boundaries and helping them to feel loved.

He also shares why he continues to support Jeni in telling their story and helping women heal from betrayal trauma.

  • Ep 1 Why I Choose to Heal In Christ's Light- Jeni Brockbank
    Apr 28 2023

Host, Jeni Brockbank, shares why she chooses to heal in Christ's light. She shares her experience being married to a man who struggles with sex addiction and severe mental illnesses.

When Jeni entered recovery, she became curious about how the gospel of Jesus Christ fit with the things that she was learning. She began to wonder how therapy and doctrine fit together and began exploring answers.

She shares that she is in the middle of some difficult things and because of that, she brings curiosity to what she is learning.

"This much I know: I can use all of the tools. I can do all of the therapy, and I can gain all of the awareness. But without Christ, it's incomplete."
