We often imagine that life would be richer and happier if God simply removed our problems, yet Scripture teaches that peace and victory are not found by the elimination of trouble but by overcoming it in Christ. God uses difficulties as necessary instruments to discipline us, break our self-reliance, and drive us out of ourselves and into His strength, just as a grain of wheat must fall into the ground and die to bear fruit. Christ Himself did not promise a trouble-free life, but an inner peace that sustains us through conflict, declaring that true victory comes only through struggle and endurance. Therefore, God often permits and even adds to our trials so that we may overcome by His power, for only “he that overcometh” is promised the inheritance of all things. In this assurance, believers learn that the very troubles they fear are God’s means of blessing, shaping them for eternal victory and a share in Christ’s triumph and throne.
