Have you ever looked like you knew exactly what you were doing, only to discover that appearances can be deceiving? In John 15:1–17, Jesus teaches that genuine discipleship isn't measured by appearances or religious activity, but by the lasting fruit that comes from abiding in Him. In this message, “Branch Management,” we explore what it means to remain connected to Christ, trust the Father's pruning, and bear fruit that glorifies God.

Let's get into it.

When Pastor Jeff was a kid and his parents went away, they often left him a to-do list. The night before the cross, Jesus does something similar for His disciples. He's leaving, they're afraid, and He tells them exactly how to live until He returns.

This is Believe! The Gospel of John. Pastor Jeff Thompson takes us through John 13 and 14 in a message called "While I'm Away." Let's get into it.

Most of us remember the first time a close friend turned on us, and that sick feeling in the pit of your stomach. Jesus felt it too, and it came from one of the Twelve. So what do we make of people who follow Jesus for a while, then walk away? This is Believe! The Gospel of John. Pastor Jeff Bucknam, John 13:18–30: "The Betrayer." Let's get into it.

Imagine the President showing up at your house to scrub your toilet. You'd stop him. It's beneath him. Now picture the One who holds all authority in the universe kneeling with a towel to wash dirty feet, including the feet of the man about to betray him. This is Believe! The Gospel of John. Pastor Jeff Bucknam takes us into John 13:1–17 in a message called "Phenomenal Footwork." Let's get into it.

When something is too big for words, we turn to poetry. That's exactly what happens in Romans 11:33–36 — Paul is so overwhelmed by God that all he can do is burst into song. Today, Pastor Jeff Bucknam walks us through that hymn of praise, showing us a God who is wiser, better, and the whole point of it all. This is 'To Only God Be the Glory.'

Word had spread across Jerusalem: Jesus raised a man from the dead. Everyone had to decide what to do with that. The religious leaders plotted to kill him. A grieving sister poured out a year's wages in perfume on his feet. And a trusted friend, smiling the whole time, was already planning to betray him. Same news, three completely different responses — and today, we're asking which one looks like ours. This is Believe! The Gospel of John.

There was a season of my life when I lived above a morgue. Late-night garage doors rolling open below my floor. Embalming. Makeup on someone who'd never wear it again. Before that, death was something that happened to other people. Most of us keep it that way — we make the dead look alive, we keep the kids away from funerals.

But death doesn't stay at arm's length forever. Eventually you're the one sitting alone next to a body you love. And when that day comes, you want more than a philosophy. You want an answer.

Every religion has tried to give one. Enough good lives and maybe you dissolve into eternity. Enough good works and maybe the scale tips your way. Or — just take what you can get, because after this, nothing.

Jesus gives a different answer. And he gives it outside a tomb that's already started to smell.

In John 11, Lazarus has been dead four days when Jesus finally shows up. What happens next shows us three things: death is overwhelming, Jesus feels it too, and Jesus overwhelms death anyway.

Pastor Jeff Bucknam brings us "Lazarus: Back By Popular Demand," from John 11:17–44. Let's get into it.

You get the call. Someone you love is in trouble, and you expect help to come right away. But it doesn't. Not that hour. Not that day. The silence stretches on, and you're left wondering if anyone's coming at all. That's exactly where Mary and Martha find themselves. They send word to Jesus that His close friend Lazarus is sick—dying, even—and surely He'll drop everything. Instead, He waits. Two more days. By the time He arrives, Lazarus is already in the tomb. So what do you do when God seems to delay right when you need Him most? Today we're in John 11:1–16, where we find out that the delay isn't a sign that God has stopped caring—it's the setup for something bigger than anyone in that story could have imagined. The sermon is called "The Delay Before the Display." Let's get into it.
