In June of this year I got a chance to collaborate with an amazing organization ARTSTART on an exploratory project with a group of young people that would connect and expose them to career exploration in the creative arts field. We spent a week in Spanish Harlem doing all that we could to be a part of the big apple's Hustle & Bustle and experience some creative opportunities for ourselves. Episode 9.5 follows up on some reflective conversations that I was able to have with 3 EMERGING ARTIST from MKE, WI Javier Juarez (Artist / Producer), Randy Staples (Fashion), Amir Williams (Visual Arts) while out in NYC. Just finding time to post more of our conversations.

I accompanied 3 High School youth half way across the country to take a deep exploratory look at following their artistic and creative dreams through a dope organization called ART START and their Emerging Artist program. Their first time in the big apple; the reflection is fascinating.

So you'll hear my voice briefly in this episode; but this was about me. This originally was not intended to be posted as an episode of HR; it's a small piece of the work meaningful and impactful work that I get the opportunity to to do every day. I coordinated this panel for students at Bradley Tech HS in Milwaukee, WI as part of their BLACK LIVES MATTER AT SCHOOLS YEAR OF PURPOSE programming. This panel featured BLACK WOMEN that are making amazing strides and contributions to the community and was facilitated by an amazing math teacher who also is a BLACK WOMAN. They talk about representation, mentorship, finding and unlocking your confidence in addition to shedding light on the cool things they are doing

I sit down with Dr. Shandowlyon Hendricks-Williams; candidate for Wisconsin State Superintendent to talk her journey, how education has opened doors for her and her family, and also expands on her intentions if selected as State Superintendent. While it is campaign season; I wanted to keep the conversation organic to her and shed light on her story and not rely so much on the seat she's running for. First "virtual" episode after trying really hard to hold out until it was safe enough to run it in person.
