David’s courage did not come from his own ability, but from a deep revelation that the Lord was his protection, his strategy, and his victory.

When David declares, “The Lord is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear?” he is not speaking theory but a life of proven deliverance in the face of lions, bears, giants, and war. In Psalm 27:1, “light” points to God as the One who exposes darkness, clarifies confusion, and illuminates the right path when decisions feel impossible, while “salvation” and “strength” speak of rescue, safety, and a secure refuge where the enemy cannot ultimately win.

In the same way, believers today do not always face physical giants, but they confront fear, anxiety, opposition, and spiritual battles that can only be overcome by trusting God as light in confusion, salvation in danger, and strength in weakness, choosing by faith to look to Him for courage, strategy, and victory.
