  • Abba, Father - EP382
    Oct 23 2026

God Stories Radio | Episode [#382]: Abba, Father

For many people, the word "father" carries a lot of weight. Some think of protection and love. Others think of wounds, distance, or someone who was never there. Whatever your story, Scripture shows a Father who never leaves, never fails, and never stops pursuing His children.

In this episode we look at what the Bible says about God as Father:

    • A Father to the fatherless (Psalm 68:5, Psalm 27:10): When earthly parents fall short or walk away, "the LORD will take me in."
    • A Father full of compassion (Psalm 103:13, Luke 15:20): Like the father of the prodigal son, God sees us from a long way off and runs to bring us home.
    • A Father who adopts (Romans 8:15, Galatians 4:6–7): Through Christ we are no longer slaves but sons and daughters, and heirs, crying out, "Abba! Father!"
    • A Father who provides (Matthew 6:8, Matthew 7:11, James 1:17): He knows what we need before we ask, and every good and perfect gift comes from Him.
    • A Father who disciplines in love (Proverbs 3:11–12, Hebrews 12:7): His correction is proof that we belong to Him, not that He has rejected us.
    • A Father who carries us (Deuteronomy 1:31, Hosea 11:3–4, Isaiah 64:8): He forms us like clay, teaches us to walk, and carries us "all the way that you went."

Jesus opened the way for us to know Him this way: "No one comes to the Father except through me" (John 14:6). Because of that, every one of us can pray with confidence, "Our Father in heaven" (Matthew 6:9).

Whether you grew up with a great dad, a broken one, or none at all, this episode is an invitation to meet the Father who has loved you all along.

    Scripture focus: Psalm 68:5, Psalm 103:13, Luke 15:20, Romans 8:15, Galatians 4:6–7, Matthew 7:11, 1 John 3:1

  • Faithful Instruction - EP381
    Oct 15 2026

God Stories Radio | Episode 381: Faithful Instruction

At the end of his first letter to the church in Thessalonica, Paul doesn't write a long theology lecture. He gives the church a list of direct, practical instructions for living ready, awake, and full of hope while they wait for the Lord's return.

In this episode we walk through 1 Thessalonians 5 and how its instructions apply to ordinary life today:

    • Living as children of the light (vv. 4–8): staying alert and sober-minded, with faith and love as a breastplate and the hope of salvation as a helmet.
    • Building each other up (vv. 11–15): encouraging the fainthearted, helping the weak, being patient with everyone, and not repaying evil for evil.
    • The will of God for you (vv. 16–18): "Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you."
    • Holding fast to what is good (vv. 19–22): not quenching the Spirit, testing everything, and staying away from every form of evil.

None of this rests on our own strength. Paul ends the instruction with a promise: "He who calls you is faithful; he will surely do it" (v. 24). The God who gives the instruction is the same God who makes us able to follow it.

Whether you're in a season of joy or barely hanging on, this episode is an invitation to take His instruction seriously, and to trust the One who stays faithful even when we aren't.

    📖 Scripture focus: 1 Thessalonians 5

  • Information To Revelation - EP380
    Oct 8 2026

You can know every verse, sit through every sermon and still feel like something is missing. In "Information to Revelation," God Stories Radio looks at the journey from knowing facts about God to meeting Him for yourself.

Information fills the mind, but revelation changes the heart. Job said it best: "My ears had heard of You, but now my eyes have seen You" (Job 42:5). When Peter declared that Jesus was the Christ, Jesus told him, "Flesh and blood has not revealed this to you, but My Father who is in heaven" (Matthew 16:17).

This conversation is honest about the seasons when faith felt like head knowledge only, and about the moments that broke through: a word that came alive, a prayer answered in a way only God could, a truth you'd heard a hundred times that suddenly became yours.

If you've ever wondered whether there's more to faith than what you've been taught, this episode is for you.

    In this episode:

    • The difference between knowing about God and knowing God

    • Why information alone doesn't change a life

    • How revelation often comes through struggle, surrender and stillness

    • Moving from second-hand faith to first-hand encounter

God Stories Radio shares real stories of faith, struggle and hope, because every life has a God story.

  • The House Was Full - EP379
    Oct 1 2026

    THE STORY OF GOD'S FAMILY
Podcast based on The House Was Full
    Central Thesis
The Bible is not simply a collection of 66 books containing unrelated stories about different people. It is one great story revealing who God is, what He wants from humanity, what went wrong with His creation, what He did to redeem it, and where He intends to take His children in the end. It truly is 'one story', and as such, the greatest story ever told.
One of the clearest threads connecting that entire story is family.
    God creates.
    Humanity rebels.
    God pursues.
    God promises.
    God enters.
    God redeems.
    God adopts.
    God restores.
The Bible begins with God and His human family together in creation. It ends with God and His redeemed family together in a restored creation. Everything between tells us how He brings His family home.

    1. OPEN WITH THE QUESTION THAT STARTED THE BOOK
    Suggested Opening
I didn't begin writing The House Was Full because I wanted to write another Christmas book.
In fact, I've come to believe the book has very little to do with Christmas as a holiday.
It has everything to do with a much larger question:
Who is God... and what does He actually want from us?
For much of my life, I carried another question:
    Who am I?
My grandfather had been adopted into the Sullivan family, and that eventually led me into genealogy. I became fascinated with names, generations, family lines, and where I came from.
But somewhere in that search I discovered something much more important than my earthly genealogy.
My deepest identity wasn't found in a surname.
    It wasn't found in DNA.
It wasn't found in an ancestral record.
My deepest identity was found in relationship with God.
    I am His child.
And once I began looking at the Bible through that lens, I started seeing something I could no longer unsee.
Family is everywhere in the Bible. It is the theme that ties all the stories together in a clear and comprehensive understanding of God's plan for mankind.
    Hook Line
"I went looking for my family tree and eventually discovered that the most important genealogy was the one that told me whose child I am."
    Transition
That realization caused me to ask a question I had never seriously asked before:
What happens if you read the entire Bible looking for family?
    Not merely marriages.
    Not merely children.
    Not merely genealogies.
    But:
    Father.
    Son.
    Children.
    Brothers.
    Sisters.
    Bride.
    Household.

  • What To Do With God's Love - EP377
    Aug 28 2026

We use the phrase "God loves you" so often that it has almost stopped meaning
anything. It goes on bumper stickers and church signs. It gets said at funerals
when nobody knows what else to say. And somewhere along the way it turned into
    background noise.

In this episode I want to slow down and take it apart. Not the sentimental
version — the real one. The kind of love that shows up before you have cleaned
yourself up, that does not flinch at the parts of your story you would rather
keep buried, and that does not run out when you fail again.

[ONE PERSONAL STORY — 3 to 5 sentences. A moment you did not feel loved by God,
or a moment His love reached you through another person. This is the single most
important paragraph in the episode. Listeners forgive a rough recording. They
do not forgive an abstract one.]

We look at what Scripture actually claims about God's love — that it moved
first, while we were still in the wrong (Romans 5:8), that it is not one of
God's moods but His nature (1 John 4:8), and that nothing in your past or your
future has the power to separate you from it (Romans 8:38-39).

If you are carrying something you think has disqualified you, I hope you stay
to the end of this one.

    WHAT WE COVER

    • Why "God loves everyone" is easy to believe and "God loves me" is not

    • The difference between being tolerated, being approved of, and being loved

    • What God's love is not: not approval of everything you do, not the absence of
      hard seasons
