    Jan 11 2026

    📖 Luke 10:1–2 (ESV)

1 After this the Lord appointed seventy-two others and sent them on ahead of him, two by two, into every town and place where he himself was about to go.
2 And he said to them, “The harvest is plentiful, but the laborers are few. Therefore pray earnestly to the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into his harvest.”

Jesus expands the mission. Beyond the Twelve, He appoints seventy-two others and sends them ahead as forerunners—preparing hearts for His coming.

    The need is urgent:
“The harvest is plentiful, but the laborers are few.”

    This passage teaches us:
✔ God’s mission is larger than a few leaders
✔ Jesus sends His followers out intentionally and prayerfully
✔ The gospel advances through willing messengers
    ✔ Prayer precedes mission
✔ God invites us to participate in His harvest work

The fields are ready—but workers must be sent.
Jesus calls us not only to learn, but to go.

  • 26.009 | THE COST OF FOLLOWING JESUS | Luke 9:51-56 | God's Word for Today with Pastor Nazario Sinon
    Jan 10 2026

    📖 Luke 9:57–62 (ESV)

57 As they were going along the road, someone said to him, “I will follow you wherever you go.”
58 And Jesus said to him, “Foxes have holes, and birds of the air have nests, but the Son of Man has nowhere to lay his head.”
59 To another he said, “Follow me.” But he said, “Lord, let me first go and bury my father.”
60 And Jesus said to him, “Leave the dead to bury their own dead. But as for you, go and proclaim the kingdom of God.”
61 Yet another said, “I will follow you, Lord, but let me first say farewell to those at my home.”
62 Jesus said to him, “No one who puts his hand to the plow and looks back is fit for the kingdom of God.”

As Jesus journeys toward Jerusalem and the cross, three men express a desire to follow Him. Each response reveals a different hesitation—comfort, obligation, or attachment to the past.

Jesus’ words are direct and demanding because discipleship is costly.

    This passage reminds us:
    ✔ Following Jesus requires sacrifice
✔ Comfort is not guaranteed in discipleship
✔ Obedience to Christ takes priority over convenience
✔ Delayed commitment reveals divided loyalty
✔ True discipleship demands forward focus

Jesus does not lower the cost—He clarifies it.
To follow Him is to leave behind anything that competes with wholehearted devotion.

  • 26.008 | THE EVIL OF PREJUDICE | Luke 9:51-56 | God's Word for Today with Pastor Nazario Sinon
    Jan 8 2026

    Luke 9:51–56 (ESV)

51 When the days drew near for him to be taken up, he set his face to go to Jerusalem.
52 And he sent messengers ahead of him, who went and entered a village of the Samaritans, to make preparations for him.
53 But the people did not receive him, because his face was set toward Jerusalem.
54 And when his disciples James and John saw it, they said, “Lord, do you want us to tell fire to come down from heaven and consume them?”
55 But he turned and rebuked them.
56 And they went on to another village.

As Jesus resolutely sets His face toward Jerusalem and the cross, He is rejected by a Samaritan village. The response of James and John reveals a deeper issue—not zeal for truth, but prejudice of the heart.

    This passage teaches us:
✔ Jesus is committed to God’s redemptive mission
✔ Rejection does not justify retaliation
    ✔ Prejudice distorts spiritual judgment
✔ The gospel calls for patience, not destruction
✔ Jesus prioritizes salvation over judgment

While the disciples wanted to call down fire, Jesus chose restraint, mercy, and forward obedience. The kingdom of God advances not by force—but by grace.
