# Decoding Resident Evil: A Roundtable Review

> Join our spirited discussion on the latest Resident Evil movie!

The latest episode of Global Nerds After Dark dives into the much-anticipated Resident Evil movie, sparking a heated debate among our hosts. Each voice brings a unique perspective to the table, creating a rich tapestry of opinions and insights.

## The Love and Hate Spectrum

The conversation kicks off with the hosts sharing their initial reactions. R3alKrispy boldly declares,

> "I fucking loved it. It's one of my favorite video game movies."

While Dee Global notes,

> "We got one hate. What about you?"

Luxe Logan and NightyWulf express their reservations, with NightyWulf stating,

> "I enjoyed it for what it was, but as a Resident Evil movie, I did not enjoy it."

This sets the stage for a deep dive into what makes a movie true to its source material versus what entertains in its own right.

## A Mixed Bag of Expectations

The group discusses the film's approach to humor and horror, with Dee Global emphasizing that the balance seemed to resonate with some viewers. However, Luxe Logan, a diehard Resident Evil fan, argues:

> "The comedy aspect just didn't hit for me."

He reminisces about the serious tone of the games, suggesting that the film’s comedic elements felt out of place.

NightyWulf adds to this by reflecting on the missed opportunities for deeper world exploration, expressing a desire for more character development and exploration of the iconic Resident Evil universe:

> "I wanted the exploration; I wanted the character to explore the world more."

## Humor vs. Horror

The conversation flows into the execution of humor within the film. R3alKrispy defends the film's comedic approach, positing that

> "This isn't like some guy we're being told isn't everyman. This is an actual everyman..."

He argues that this relatability enhances the storytelling, but Luxe Logan counters with a desire for the traditional horror elements that have defined the franchise.

## Final Thoughts

As the discussion wraps up, the hosts reflect on the film's pacing and setup, with Luxe summarizing:

> "The beginning of the movie was amazing, but I feel like they lost it right there."
