Ghughuti Tyohaar is a festival for the children. Ghughuti is a sweet made up of wheat flour, jaggery, and ghee. On Uttarayan day, children of Uttarakhand wear a Ghughuti Mala (necklace made with Ghughuti) and go to the terrace to call crows. Children would sing a folk song, 'Kale Kawa Kale Ghughuti Mala Kha Le....' to call crows. The crows listening to their sweet song would come to the terrace and eat ghughuti. The crows that signify ancestors in turn give a lot of blessings to the children.
