Every six months, leaders of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints gather to share messages in general conference. This podcast consists of an in-depth look at each of these messages. In particular, the hosts identify the invitations that were extended by the speakers, and then discuss ways that listeners can become "doers of the word" and take action on these invitations. The hosts for this podcast are Mitch Peterson and Clay Soelberg, both of whom are active members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. The views expressed in this podcast are those of its creators.Mitch Peterson and Clay Soelberg Catechesi ed evangelismo Cristianesimo Spiritualità

Matswagothata — AMAZING STORIES YOU'LL LOVE from this General Authority with the Tricky Name!
    Oct 15 2026
10/15/2026 S7E15, Episode #248. Stories from Elder Clement M. Matswagothata, General Authority 70 of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Mitch and Clay were joined by Dr. Curtis Godfrey, Clay's friend and dentist (look up Excellence in Dentistry if you're near Idaho Falls; he does great work!) to share stories from Elder Clement M. Matswagothata. Elder Matswagothata deeply impressed Curtis and Clay when he visited their stake conference shortly before the April 2026 general conference and as a member of the stake presidency at the time, Curtis enjoyed an even more personal experience with Botswana's 1st general authority. We share unforgettable stories from his visit, subsequent BYU Idaho devotional, and conference address. This good man is fun, entertaining, inspiring, and to us, exemplifies what it means to be a disciple of the Lord, Jesus Christ, in how he makes each person feel seen, as though you are the only person in the room. Bonus: We pulled one of our favorite stories out of this episode in order to first seek Elder Matswagothata's blessing before sharing it as it was given in a smaller leadership session of stake conference rather than the general session. Assuming he gives his blessing, we'll share it separately on YouTube and our social media channels. Make sure to subscribe to not miss out! It's amazing!Since 2023, General Conference Applied has been dedicated to helping fellow Latter-day Saints strengthen our relationships to our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, by becoming "Doers of the Word." We study the gospel through great talks by modern church leaders (including some classic ones) and taking action on their inspired invitations. We'll learn, love, and laugh along the way! Please join us and share with others! With love, Clay and Mitch.Subscribe to the free GCA newsletter for additional show notes on our guests, conference invitations, application ideas, supplemental study resources, lesson materials, our President Oaks listening schedule, and recent highlights from the 1st Presidency and Quorum of the Twelve's global ministry.
