  • A Deeper Kind of Blue
    Nov 6 2026

The Democratic election sweep marks a turning point in American politics, but will the Democratic Party deliver the change voters are demanding? In this episode, we examine the 2026 midterm election results, the growing divide between establishment Democrats like Chuck Schumer, Hakeem Jeffries, and Gavin Newsom, and a new generation of progressive leaders like Zohran Mamdani, Abdul El-Sayed, and James Talarico.

Are Democrats finally ready to challenge corporate influence, economic inequality, healthcare costs, unaffordable housing, and political corruption? We break down what newly elected Democratic senators, representatives, governors, and mayors must do to turn electoral victories into meaningful policy changes.

From progressive economic reform and working-class priorities to campaign finance reform, healthcare, and protecting democracy, this episode asks one critical question: Will Democrats fight for ordinary Americans, or protect the political establishment?

  • Liminal Spaces and Ghostly Faces
    Oct 31 2026

Why do empty hotel corridors, abandoned shopping malls, deserted airports, and quiet hospital hallways feel so unsettling? There's a name for these strange in-between places: liminal spaces.

In this episode, we explore the eerie psychology of liminal spaces, the unsettling atmosphere of forgotten places, and why ordinary environments can become surprisingly frightening when the people who give them purpose disappear.

From the internet phenomenon of the Backrooms and the rise of liminal horror to haunted hotels, roadside motels, crossroads, mirrors, cemeteries, and the mysterious reputation of midnight, we examine the connection between familiar surroundings and the fear of the unknown. But liminal spaces aren't just physical locations. They also represent the uncertain periods of our lives when we're caught between who we used to be and who we're becoming. Whether you're changing careers, moving somewhere new, experiencing loss, or simply trying to figure out adulthood, that uncomfortable feeling of being somewhere in between may be more familiar than you think.

Why does emptiness make us uncomfortable? What makes ordinary places feel paranormal? And why are we so fascinated by places where nothing is supposed to happen?

  • The Artificial Future
    Oct 22 2026

Artificial intelligence is advancing rapidly, creating new possibilities for technology, business, and everyday life. From generative AI and automation to brain-computer interfaces (BCIs) that connect human brains with digital systems, emerging technologies could reshape how people interact with machines and process information. Prediction market apps are also gaining attention as platforms that use collective forecasts to estimate the likelihood of future events, raising interesting questions about data, decision-making, and the role of AI in analyzing real-world outcomes. As these developments continue, the future of AI will be shaped by technological breakthroughs, public adoption, economic incentives, and evolving regulations. While AI could improve productivity, accelerate scientific research, and enable new forms of human-computer interaction, it also presents challenges involving privacy, ethics, security, and employment. The direction of these trends remains uncertain, but their potential influence on society makes artificial intelligence and its related technologies important areas to watch in the years ahead.

  • Crime, Inc.
    Oct 1 2026

In Episode 3 of Gen_Cat, we go behind the polished logos, corporate slogans, and reassuring press releases to examine the darker side of corporate power. From Nestlé’s controversial infant formula marketing and Monsanto’s glyphosate legacy to child labor in the cocoa supply chain, ExxonMobil and climate change, pharmaceutical misconduct, corporate lobbying, tax incentives, and the history of United Fruit in Guatemala, this episode asks a deceptively simple question: what happens when profit gets farther away from consequence?

This isn’t a conspiracy story and it’s not a morality play with cartoon villains. It’s a look at corporate crime, corporate accountability, capitalism, corruption, corporate influence, environmental damage, political power, and the systems that can make harmful decisions look completely ordinary.

Because sometimes the most unsettling crimes don’t happen in dark rooms. They happen in conference rooms, spreadsheets, supply chains, and boardrooms, right out in the daylight.

  • Marriage, UFOs, Loneliness, Smartphones, and A.I.
    Sep 12 2026

What happens when some of the biggest questions about modern life collide in the same conversation? In this episode of General Category, we move from the changing institution of marriage to UFO disclosure, artificial intelligence, smartphones, unidentified remains, and the strange paradox of modern loneliness. Six seemingly unrelated subjects become connected by one larger question: what does it mean to be human in a rapidly changing world?

First, we examine whether marriage is becoming optional. Marriage rates in the United States have fallen dramatically over the past several decades, while people are marrying later, having children later, and building increasingly diverse household structures. Is society abandoning marriage, or are people simply rejecting an older model of relationships, family, economics, and adulthood? We look at modern dating, financial pressures, independence, companionship, and whether marriage is still considered a necessary milestone for a meaningful life.

Then we turn toward UAP and UFO disclosure and ask what the government actually knows. Rather than jumping immediately to extraterrestrial explanations, we examine documented UAP reports, unresolved cases, government investigations, sensor limitations, and the important distinction between something being unidentified and something being inexplicable. Where does the evidence end, and where does speculation begin?

We also examine the technology occupying so much of modern life: the smartphone. Is the real problem screen time, or is it the constant fragmentation of our attention? Notifications, social media, boredom, distraction, and the economics of attention raise a deeper question about whether we are gradually losing the ability to simply sit with a thought.

Finally, we explore artificial intelligence and one of the strangest questions technology has created: can AI actually be creative? If an artificial intelligence system produces a beautiful painting, story, song, or idea without consciousness or subjective experience, is that creativity? We consider AI, art, human originality, consciousness, collaboration, and what creativity might actually mean.
