Most of us inherited a picture of ministry that looks like an office, a title, and a sign out front. But John the Baptist didn't have an office. Neither did Moses. And the wilderness voice has always been dangerous precisely at the moment it stops being ignorable.

In this episode, Sean walks through what real ministry costs when it doesn't match the shape anyone sanctioned in advance, drawing on Dietrich Bonhoeffer's idea of costly discipleship, the pattern of dismissed and mistaken-for-something-else ministry that runs through Scripture from Jesus to Paul, and his own experience of having theological training treated as a threat instead of an asset.
