Fresno State football is facing a critical turning point in its 2026 season! After losing back-to-back rivalry games against Boise State and San Diego State, can Matt Entz and the Bulldogs use their bye week to save their Pac-12 championship hopes?

Al Scott of Fresno Sports Magazine joins Locked On Pac-12 to break down Fresno State's 4-3 start, the growing frustration surrounding its offense, Jayden Mandal's future at quarterback, and what needs to change before a massive Halloween matchup against Oregon State.

The Bulldogs have been outscored 42-16 in the first quarter this season, including just three combined first-quarter points outside their game against Boise State.

Yet Fresno State has outscored opponents 159-88 over the final three quarters.

Why does this team consistently wait so long to get its offense moving?

We discuss whether offensive coordinator Josh Davis needs to make significant adjustments, why Mandal's ball security makes a quarterback change unlikely, and whether Matt Entz should face any pressure if the season continues slipping away.

Looking ahead, Oregon State presents a massive challenge with quarterback Braden Atkinson and receiver Jesse LeGree leading one of the Pac-12's most dangerous passing attacks.

Can Fresno State's defense contain them?

We also examine the Bulldogs' remaining schedule, the importance of getting Rayshon Luke healthy, and why nine wins could still represent a successful season.

Plus, we shift to Fresno State men's basketball following Pac-12 Media Day.

With an entirely rebuilt roster, head coach Vance Walberg faces major questions about chemistry, roster retention and whether newcomers like KJ Perry, Roger Fabrega Urbina and Quentin Rhymes can help the Bulldogs compete.

Can Fresno State turn things around in football and basketball?
