  • 196 Eighth Commandment - Thou Shall Not Lie (II)
    Jun 9 2026

This is the second half of my commentary on the Eighth Commandment, “Thou shall not bear false witness against your neighbor.” We look at the different sins against the eighth Commandment and some of the virtues, we are encouraged to live out. Encouraged by the amazing example of Eleazar from the Book of Maccabees, we also look into the relationship between truth, beauty and art.

  • 194 Tenth Commandment – Thou Shall Not Covet Your Neighbor’s Goods
    Apr 23 2026

The Tenth Commandment, “Thou shall not covet your neighbors’ goods” complements the Seventh, and goes to the roots, to the heart. It forbids avarice, greed and envy, but it also encourages poverty of spirit, charity and humility. I explain what avarice and envy are, its origins, and how to oppose them. I talk about some examples in Scripture (like that of Simon the Magician, and the poor widow) and some in the Lord of the Rings (like that of Boromir and Gollum). Finally, I present the great example of venerable Fr. Emil Kapaun, a US. Army Chaplain who died as a POW during the Korean War.

  • 191 Growing Closer to Christ During the Christmas Season
    Dec 21 2025

Christmas is a mystery of purity from any point of view. Join me as we consider what is at the HEART of the celebration of the Nativity of the Lord. How Christmas reminds us that “God is with us,” he is the Emmanuel, and he is the one who saves us. Therefore, we are never alone, because God descended into this world and took our human flesh so us to be near us, and bring us back to himself. Indeed, salvation is from above, from God, from Heaven. We can’t save ourselves by our own strength. May our Lord be born in your heart this Christmas!
