Half of football's injuries are lower-extremity soft tissue, and hamstrings are the largest single category at every level. But the strain isn't the real cost. NCAA Division I players return to play in about nine days, yet only 16% ever regain full pre-injury function across velocity, acceleration and workload — and those who do recover their speed average 163 days to get there. That's five months of a quietly slower athlete, with no number in the building to prove it.
