We all have special days marked on our calendars — holidays, birthdays, anniversaries, and celebrations that bring people together and help us remember what matters most. In ancient times God also gave His people sacred days set apart for worship, rest, feasting, and remembrance. What were these holy days, why did they matter, and what can they still teach us about God and our connection with Him today?

Motherhood is full of joy and exhaustion, victories and setbacks, laughter and sacrifice. Moms are often the steady anchor for their families, offering strength, comfort, and support through every season of life. But moms need an anchor too. The good news is that God is always faithful to provide strength, peace, and help when life feels overwhelming. The same God who uses mothers to care for others is also caring for them.

These days, truth can be hard to pin down. Between A.I., filtered posts, and the way we present polished versions of ourselves, it’s almost expected that what we see isn’t the full picture. But Scripture is different. For centuries, God’s Word has proven to be true and reliable. With so many voices offering guidance, the Bible is the one source I know I can trust to anchor my life.

Most of us have someone we turn to when life feels overwhelming—someone we trust for advice, support, and direction. We need that kind of anchor, a steady presence that keeps us from drifting or falling when life gets uncertain. Now imagine if the church could be that kind of presence in your life. Not just a place you attend, but a family you can rely on—a steady, safe community that walks with you when things aren’t going right.

We’ve become a self-reliant people. We tell ourselves we don’t need anyone—that we can handle life on our own. Or worse, we start to believe no one would want to help, accept, or love us anyway. So we stop expecting it. And when hard moments come, we feel completely alone.But God gives grace. He accepts us and loves us just as we are—no conditions, no hesitation. That’s the hope I can anchor to...if I choose to do so.

Anchor points keep us secure. They hold us steady when everything around us shifts, and they keep us from drifting when the winds push against us. Faith is meant to be that kind of anchor. Trusting that God’s Word is true and His promises are reliable gives me something unshakable to hold onto when life feels uncertain. But an anchor only works if I actually use it. So how do I strengthen my faith? How do I consistently return to it when everything around me is pulling me in other directions?

Easter is usually full of bunnies and eggs and bright colors and fun photos. But Easter tells a far greater story—the story that Jesus didn’t remain in the grave. Three days after His death, He rose again. And that truth isn’t just worth celebrating—it’s worth building my entire life around. Because the empty tomb is more than a story of victory; it’s a story of hope.

There is both danger and responsibility for those who follow Jesus and have been blessed with material wealth. Scripture calls us to guard our hearts against pride and misplaced hope in riches, while stepping into the opportunity to “be generous and ready to share” (1 Timothy 6:18). So how do we flee arrogance and false security—and instead pursue a life marked by goodness, purity, and generosity?
