As Lent begins, Rev. Cam Thomas leads us into the wilderness with Jesus to face the pull of quick fixes and shortcuts. Preaching from Matthew 4:1–11, he shows how the tempter’s offers bread, spectacle, and power, promise relief but cost our souls in the long run. Instead, Jesus “plays the long game,” answering each temptation with God’s Word: “One does not live by bread alone… Do not put the Lord your God to the test… Worship the Lord your God, and serve only him.”

This sermon launches our Lenten series, “Lord, when did we see you…?” (Matthew 25), inviting us to recognize Christ not just in the hungry, the stranger, and the sick, but also in the crucible of our own temptations—those moments when it’s easiest to forget God and think only of ourselves. With stories from everyday life, a call to deep roots of faith, and the image of the Communion table as a wisdom table, a grace-and-forgiveness place that resets our perspective, Rev. Cam urges us to embody a steady, hopeful discipleship: compassion over convenience, faithfulness over impulse, worship over self.

Listen and be encouraged to remember God when the pressure rises and to let your daily choices become a true witness to Christ.

In this Epiphany message, Rev. Elizabeth McGuire invites us to “hear the earth speak” as John the Baptist bears witness to Jesus: “Behold, the Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world.” Drawing on John 1:29–34, Rev. McGuire explores how creation itself testifies to Christ—the dove descending, the waters of baptism, and the humble image of the lamb—revealing a Messiah who leads not by domination but by surrender, mercy, and transforming love. With warmth and wit (yes, even a nod to Google’s search results for “Lamb of God”), she unpacks the depth of this title and widens our view from private failings to the “sin of the world”—the brokenness of the whole cosmos that Christ came to heal. On the eve of Martin Luther King Jr. Day, the sermon calls us to unity in our God‑given distinctions and to a discipleship marked by justice, gentleness, and hope. Come listen for the voice of the Spirit in creation—and learn to recognize Jesus in humility, grace, and restorative righteousness.

In this week’s sermon, Rev. Cam Thomas delivers a powerful message titled “The Word of the Lord.” Drawing from Amos 5:20–25, this teaching challenges us to reflect on what true worship looks like in the eyes of God. Are we merely going through the motions, or are we living out justice, mercy, and righteousness as the Lord commands? Join us as we explore the prophetic call to authentic faith and obedience, and discover how God’s Word speaks to our lives today.
