  • The Cornell 7: Why Women Still Don't Feel Safe
    Oct 1 2026

Cornell sexual assault lawsuit: what's alleged, why the case is back in the headlines, and why so many women still don't feel safe.

Content note: this episode discusses sexual assault. Please skip if that's not something you want to hear today.

A former Cornell student alleges she was drugged and sexually assaulted at the Chi Phi fraternity house in 2024. Her civil lawsuit is now public, prosecutors have reopened the case, and the internet is asking how it was handled. (Cornell disputes that essays were the only consequence and says the allegations were investigated under its policies. These are allegations, and the legal process is ongoing.)

Our guest cancelled at the last minute, so Soraya and Jasmine had the conversation that needed to happen. In this episode:

    - What the Cornell lawsuit alleges and why it has sparked such anger

    - Why women are still told to take every precaution while accountability lags behind

    - The bystander effect: what it means when a whole group chat stays silent

    - Why women don't report, and why reporting still matters, including to the police

    - Elite universities, institutions protecting themselves, and The Hunting Ground and Promising Young Woman

    - Is violence against women escalating? Social media, the manosphere and the under-16 ban debate

    - The New York video that asked women what they'd do if they were guaranteed safe for a day

    - More stories that show how often women aren't listened to, including the Tokyo Medical University admissions scandal

    - What we can actually do: speak up, don't assume someone else has reported it, and teach both boys and girls

Females Thriving Over 30 is the podcast for women in their thirties, forties, fifties and beyond, and for the twenty-somethings quietly dreading the big 3-0. Every week we talk career, identity, self-worth and building a life that feels as good as it looks.

  • How to Stop People Pleasing & Find Alignment: Subconscious Beliefs, Boundaries & Self-Worth with Yana German
    Sep 24 2026

Why do you keep saying yes when you mean no? Transformational coach Yana German reveals why 97% of your daily life runs on subconscious programming and how to find your way back to alignment.

What if the life you're living looks right on the outside but doesn't feel right anymore? In this episode of Females Thriving Over 30, Soraya and Jasmine sit down with Yana German, the Chicago-based coach, spoken word poet and creator of SoulScript Poetry, known as the "Architect of Awareness & Alignment." With nearly three decades of experience, Yana shares how she turned her own healing from trauma into a calling. She explains how inherited beliefs and generational patterns quietly shape our relationships, our self-worth and our ability to set boundaries.

    In this episode we cover:

    - Why affirmations alone don't work, and how subconscious beliefs really change

    - How your parents' fears and anxieties can become your patterns

    - Why "I don't know who I am anymore" is actually a breakthrough moment

    - The quiet within: how to hear your intuition over your ego

    - Why meditation doesn't work for everyone (and what to do instead)

    - The best times of day for reflection, journaling and gratitude

    - People pleasing, overgiving and why you can't pour from an empty cup

    - How to create your own integrity map

    - The 7 types of boundaries and why self-love is the key to setting them

If you're a recovering people pleaser, an overachiever or simply feeling stuck, this conversation is your reminder that worthiness is your birthright.

  • 50 and Fabulous: Confidence, Reinvention & the Glow Up Nobody Warned You About (with Emily Sanders)
    Sep 17 2026

What if turning 50 wasn't something to dread — but the moment you finally stop apologizing for who you are? This week Soraya and Jasmine sit down with Emily Sanders: a single mom of two, licensed massage therapist, pageant titleholder, and aspiring children's book author who's redefining what confidence after 50 actually looks like.

Emily gets real about the parts nobody posts about — rebuilding her identity after divorce, losing a business she spent five years building, competing in pageants in her 40s and 50s, and the exact moment she decided she had "no more Fs to give." We talk about midlife reinvention, why starting over in your 50s isn't a setback, how journaling (even with ChatGPT) can help you process the chaos, and why your journey was never meant to make sense to anyone but you.

If you've ever felt like you're behind on some invisible timeline, or wondered whether it's "too late" to chase something new — this conversation is proof it isn't. It's a masterclass in self-worth, women's empowerment, and building a life on your own terms, at any age.

This episode covers: midlife confidence, reinventing yourself after divorce, single motherhood, pageant life after 40, journaling for mental clarity, and letting go of other people's expectations.
