FAMU Volleyball held it down this week as the Football team was Idle on a Bye week. And Oh what a time to be off. The SWAC had multiple upsets and so did the MEAC. But the talking point for the week will definitely be the Mississippi Valley State comeback and BCU scoring an upset at home.

Saturday was a great day to reset because it was Wild in those HBCU football streets.

And what a time to be able to play spoiler for some of the teams.

It truly is A Different World from where we came from a few years ago.

Even comparing last year's team to this version of FAMU football has many in Rattler Nation wondering what has gone wrong?

And while we can easily look at what has gone wrong this season, what has gone right is another question that could use some investigation.

One of the things that has gone right for sure seems to be the FAMU Basketball team and FAMU Volleyball is looking to get some wins while on the road in Mississippi.

This reset could mean some personnel changes, adjustments in philosophy and more because after losing to the Bulldogs for the first time in 40 years.

Ok FAMU is not playing the Crimson Tide, but the Football and Volleyball teams are playing Alabama A&M and Alabama State University in Tallahassee.

Both teams find themselves in similar situations but on varying sides of the spectrum. FAMU Volleyball is in a place that gives the fans hope for the continued success of the program while the Football team is in need of a win in the worst of ways. And the troubling part of the situation is seeing the ending of streaks and trends while we see the beginning of what has turned from a rebuild to a complete Reconstruction.

Accompanying the football team's need for a win was a post game interview that may have shed light on the FAMU Football program in a way that will predict change in the future.

FAMU Football did more than lay an egg at home against Tennessee State University.

The game showed that FAMU’s football team is not able to beat itself and the opponent at the same time.

Beyond exposing that norm we saw that FAMU has an issue keeping quarterbacks healthy this season.

The game was well attended but the post game will likely go down in the books as one of the best post game pressers that we have had in a long time.

The honesty and pride displayed was refreshing but also showed a coach that is still looking to redefine what FAMU football is and to not only restore the strike but to also rebuild the image of this program.

Coming into the season many of us who believed in the potential of FAMU Football are a bit more than concerned with what we have seen thus far this season.

But I believe the fanbase, at least the rational members of the base, are willing to let our coach and this program grow into what we hope it to become.

So while many of us are frustrated with the outcome of the week in Miami we can still prepare for the upcoming week and look back at this past week to see a glimpse of hope for the future.
