    Dear God, we thank you for the Bible. We thank you for the stuff that encourages us and for the stuff that challenges us. No matter whether we’re kids or adults, we always have more to learn. As we read it both ourselves and with others, fill us up with the wisdom that will guide our steps both today and beyond. Amen.

    Dan and his family get confused by the rules of a new board game until people who know how to play the game show them the way. Similarly, Jesus is the “Word made flesh,” and shows us what living out the Bible looks like.

    Prayer

    Dear God, we admit that sometimes we read the Bible and aren’t quite sure what you mean. And so we’re grateful that you didn’t just leave us to figure it all out ourselves, but you sent your Son, Jesus, to show us what life is supposed to look like. Help us look to Jesus as our teacher and the example we can use to understand your way better. Amen.
