In 1999, the original BlackBerry smartphone was launched and it quickly gained worldwide popularity. BlackBerry soon became a renowned brand in the smartphone industry. As of late 2013, the number of BlackBerry subscribers reached an impressive 85 million.
However, in 2017, the number drastically decreased to approximately 11 million, and in January 2022, the BlackBerry phones were officially declared useless by the Canadian company.
