Everyone talks about the dollar income, working from home and better work-life balance. But what do you have to give up before you get there?

In this episode, Kyle Nelson Omac shares the hidden sacrifices of becoming a VA bookkeeper with no degree and no experience. He started out frying banana chips for a living, and almost five years later, he talks about the parts of the VA bookkeeping journey that most beginners only learn about once they’re already in it.

This episode is for you if you’re an aspiring virtual assistant, a freelance bookkeeper in the Philippines, someone thinking about leaving a 9-to-5 for remote work, or someone who’s tired of rejections and close to giving up.

Listen until the end. There’s an assignment waiting for you.

Faith without action is Fiction.

No degree. No experience. Clients paying $4 an hour. My first two years as a VA bookkeeper almost broke me.

What got me through wasn’t Upwork, LinkedIn or my résumé. It was people: a classmate, a near-stranger online, an office mate who owed me nothing, and a phone call at 3 a.m. that I almost missed.

In this episode I tell the story of the friends who became my bridge, and what they taught me about trust, referrals and why your network matters more than any platform.

If you’re an aspiring VA bookkeeper struggling to land your first client, this one’s for you.
