Episode 7, Maverick and Doc (and Piggly-Wiggly)
    Jul 2 2022
Fireworks and dogs do not mix! We talk with Doctor Mark Williams about some last minute things you can do to help your dog make it through this difficult holiday (if they are scared of the loud noises); we also start an on-going conversation about marking in the home, and how to deal with that.

Then we get the amazing Faith Easdale on to talk about Ella, a dog this very podcast helped find a home! WOW! And a little bit more too.

All this amazing content, plus Sam and Ryan discuss alternatives to Diet Coke, nicknames, and the lovely city (town? suburb?) of Sierra Madre, California. Come and get this episode, lucky number seven!

Notes: Skip ahead to Mark Williams at minute 11, and fireworks discussion at minute 33. Faith joins in at minute 41. The active ingredient Doctor Williams mentions to help calm dogs is Tryptophan. You can find Doctor Williams's practice here: https://www.sweetwatervet.net/site/home

    Episode 6!
We're gaining on you George Lucas!!

This week we interview Maydy from SCARS, SoCal Animal Rescue Squad. A pretty new rescue, SCARS has been kicking butt and taking names all over southern California, rescuing a lot of dogs and doing a lot of great work. Get over to our episode website here: https://freeanimaldoctor.org/heros-with-scars/

As Maydy says "Scarred? You are stronger than whatever tried to hurt you!" And they do rescue so many hurt and injured dogs, many scarred not just physically but mentally and psychologically as well. So let's talk about it!

But we are having fun too! Help us kick our Diet Coke habit, and listen in on today's idea: We try https://wavesoda.com/ and see if it could replace our Diet Coke habit.

And also a SCARS dog we are helping raise money for, TOOTSIE: https://freeanimaldoctor.org/campaigns/tootsie/

Get over to SCARS website if you are looking to adopt: https://jointhescars.org/adopt-a-hero
