  • Comparison is the Fastest Way to Forget Who You Are
    Feb 26 2026

You can wake up grounded, hopeful, and anchored in truth and within minutes comparison can shift everything.

In this episode we unpack how everyday exposure to the happenings of other people's lives can activate a hidden comparison cycle thatsteals peace and distorts identity.

We talk about why comparison feels so automatic, how it reshapes the way we see ourselves, and how we can learn to interrupt it and replace it with truth in real time.

  • Taking Thoughts Captive: Identity in Christ
    Feb 20 2026

Episode 6: Taking Thoughts Captive – Identity in Christ

Who are you, really? And where did that belief come from?

In this episode, we explore how the thoughts we carry about ourselves quietly shape our identity, our obedience, and our sense of belonging. So much of what we call insecurity or imposter syndrome is actually a misalignment between who God says we are and who we’ve learned to believe we are.

Together, we unpack what Scripture says about our identity in Christ, how distorted thinking can lead us into subtle disobedience, and what it looks like to take our thoughts captive in a way that leads to freedom, not pressure. This is an invitation to renew your mind, realign with truth, and begin living from the identity God has already given you: chosen, loved, and created with purpose.

  • You're Carrying Too Much
    Feb 13 2026

There's a particular kind of tired that comes from caring deeply about many good things at once. Family, faith, work, relationships, responsibilities. Somewhere along the way, and even though the things are good things, everything starts to feel heavy.

In this episode, we talk about the hidden mental and emotional weight so many of us carry, and how scripture gently invites us to discern what is truly ours to hold and what was never meant to live on our shoulders in the first place.

Together, we reflect on Jesus' invitation to rest, explore the difference between control and responsibility, and practice a simple but powerful exercise to take honest inventory of what feels heavy in our lives right now.

This is an episode about awareness, discernment, and learning to release what we've been carrying alone so we can live more aligned and more grounded in God's presence.

  • Addressing and Overcoming Negative Self-Talk
    Feb 5 2026

In this episode, we go deeper into one of the most common and most quietly destructive patterns we carry: negative self-talk.

Together, we explore where these inner voices come from, why they feel so believable, and how scripture invites us into a different way of relating to our thoughts. We’ll talk about how our internal narratives are often learned, how not every thought we have actually belongs to us, and how to begin distinguishing between the voice of shame and the voice of God.

Through both real-life insight and biblical truth, this episode offers gentle tools for noticing, naming, and responding to the thoughts that shape how we see ourselves.

This is not about fixing yourself. It’s about becoming present, telling the truth with compassion, and learning to listen for the voice that brings life instead of condemnation. How can I pray for you? Email me at lisa@fourthirteenstudio.com

  • The Power of Words: Choosing Life in the Thoughts We Keep
    Jan 22 2026

In this episode, we gently deepen the practice of taking every thought captive by exploring the power of the words we speak, specially the ones we say to ourselves.

We reflect on how God designed us as one whole, connected being, and how the language we carry inside can either lift us toward life or pull us down into discouragement and fear.

Drawing from scripture and lived experience, we take a look at why words matter and how they can shape our inner world.

We also look at how we can begin a practice of releasing what weighs us down.

Together, we sit with the invitation from 1 Peter 5:7 to cast our cares on the Lord, and we explore what it means to surrender the noise that has been living in our minds.

The episode closes with a gentle charge for the week ahead. An easy, practical way to notice your words, invite God into your thoughts, and begin choosing life one moment at a time.

  • This is Where We Begin - Episode 1
    Jan 16 2026

    Welcome to Every Thought Captive!

    This is where we begin.

This first episode is an invitation. To pause, to breathe, and to begin to notice the thoughts that shape how we live, love, and see ourselves. I share why this podcast exists, what "every thought captive" really means in real life, and why this journey isn't about perfection, positivity, or fixing yourself.

I'm not a mental health professional, I'm a woman who has lived through seasons of anxiety, depression, exhaustion, and quiet faith. I'm a woman who's seen God meet here there, even when getting off the sofa felt impossible.

If you've ever felt mentally overwhelmed, spiritually weary, or quietly stuck, this space is for you. Come on in!
