Eric Burkes is the owner of the Richloam General Store est. 1922.
Eric’s great uncle, Sid Brinson opened the Richloam General Store on June 28th, 1922 to meet demands of the new railway that was making its way through west central Florida. It originally served as the railroad express, post office, gas station and general store.
It was burned to the ground on January 5th 1928. Sid Brinson rebuilt, reopened and stayed in business till January 31st 1936. The building remained in the family, was restored in 2016 and reopened in February of 2017. It is on the National Registry of Historic Places and is a Florida Historical Site. It continues to sell time period goods from the 1920's and 1930's.
