This week on The 3 Retro Movie Geeks, we're heading to the tiny desert town of Perfection, Nevada, as we dig into one of the greatest creature features of the 1990s – Tremors. With Paul away this week, Rob and Scott are joined once again by returning guest Ben Devlin for a fun-filled discussion about a film that perfectly blends horror, comedy, and action.
Starring Kevin Bacon and Fred Ward as handymen Val McKee and Earl Bassett, Tremors delivers giant underground monsters, unforgettable characters, and a surprising amount of suspense. We explore what made the original film such an instant cult classic, from its brilliantly paced script and practical effects to the terrifying Graboids that kept everyone off the ground.
The team also discuss favourite scenes, behind-the-scenes trivia, memorable quotes, and why Tremors continues to entertain audiences more than three decades after its release. Does it deserve to be considered one of the finest monster movies ever made? We certainly have plenty to say!
So grab a pole vault, climb onto the nearest rooftop, and join us for another nostalgic deep dive into a true cult classic that proves sometimes the best monsters are the ones you never see coming.
