This week, Secretary of Defense and former Fox News anchor Pete Hegseth announced this week that the perpetrator of Fort Hood case will be executed by firing squad and will be publicly televised for all to see.
The point of whether this person should be executed is not our debate to have; it's the fact that the Trump administration is all for putting this out for any American citizen (and child!) to see should they want to. We lean into the depths of our country's moral depravity and ire, how this fuels the MAGA base, and makes us truly wonder what the world and higher powers must think of the US of A in 2026.
