Matthew is a 19-year veteran with the Navy and Coast Guard. While in the Navy he was a minesweeper assigned to a rotational crew for 4 years. The rest of is time in service was with the Coast Guard as a operations specialist on multiple ships. Now he is a Mission 22 Ambassador, who is starting a great inspirational physical and mental health program called 22 peaks project. Matthew did not have an easy time by no means in service, during his service time he had to fight depression and pancreatitis. While all this was happening to him in service, he was able to overcome them and became a servicemember we all can look up to.
